They spend so much time and money on that animation that they make damn sure they have a good plot. Too bad modern action movies haven't caught on to that idea.
The talent and ambition at Pixar is unbelievable... I will go see every movie they make... Although I like all of Dreamworks movies too...
The great thing about Pixar is that they don't stick with your run-of-the-mill fairty tales. They make movies about bugs and toys and monsters. And the greatest thing is, these movies appeal to everyone! That's a great movie company. And yes, The Incredibles looks great too.
mayn, pixar's just makes the hit movies one after the other. and im 18 years old and i still enjoying watching movies of pixar like Toy Story, Monsters Inc., A Bug's Life, and the recent Finding Nemo. its not only entertaining, not to mention so hilarious, but it gives me time to bond with my lil sisters.
I guess this is related, but my friend told me that Disney shut down its 2D animation department? He also said that they're going to remake all their old classic cartoons in 3D? I don't know if the second part is true, but the first part doesn't suprise me. A computer animted film can be made a lot cheaper than a regular hand drawn cartoon. I bet that Pixar goes independent when their contract with Disney runs out...
Pixar doesn't have that many more films in their deal with Disney. Quite what they'll do from there, I don't know, but Steve Jobs is usually quite innovative.
Neither of these things is true. Dreamworks, which had started an animation studio, has stopped all their 2D animation business, but Disney still has some 2D projects in the works at present. And I've heard nothing about them remaking their classic films as 3D animations. Interestingly, even 2D animation is becomming more and more computerized, so the days of the animator hunched over a drafting table making a cartoon are likely nearing an end.
So the animators become artists with cutting edge software, still giving their imagination wings. It's sad for the people who can't adapt, and liberating for those who can. One can imagine what animation will be like in 3-5 years... projection in theatres is probably going to hold things back for awhile more than anything else.
