What is the wait? Did he not think that Brown would just sit back and wait for Rox decision? Or does Les have someone else in mind? Maybe a bigger name coach than Brown? I've seen Riley's name on this board, but do you really think that Les wants him and is waiting for something to happen before offering the job? What is Riley's contract situation at Miami? Could he be lured? He is a former Rocket, so we would still keep this job in the family! Man, this is getting crazy!!!

Les has nothing under his sleeve as far as coaches, so now he has to bring in the players.

This is a huge Marketing mistake, now they have twice the work to do to make up for how this offseason is going down...

It's official, Joe Dumars will announce Larry Brown as the new centerfold on press conference.

I dont mind Brown going to Piston, I am not his fan anyway. But I am upset to see this happen while CD said couple days ago he need rest couple days and think a while for consideration.

    Who give you the time???

Riley has a lot of power in Miami and a piece of the team, but having the chance to escape the situation there and coach a team with players like Yao and Steve might just work in luring him.We know Les would pay him and we sure as heck know what he can do with a special center and a bigtime guard. This is definitely the guy I want.Perhaps a pipe dream, but my wishful thinking ,and Les's history say maybe.

riley will have the heat he used to coach when tim hardaway and zo was his main men.. he can find it on francis and yao.. but, i think we should go for rick carlisle or paul silas.. hmm, mike dunleavy and jeff van gundy sounds good now that larry brown is off the list...

Pat Riley is done, for his Coaching High is long past. Like Phil Jackson he only coached teams full of experienced stars. They are not Team Builders or Teachers like Brown.

I think whoever Les selects, he has to make it look like he was the first choice, and not Brown. Perception is reality. Does everyone "know" for sure that Mike was option #2? Were we waiting on Larry or was he waiting on us?

I think a bold move (Cheeks, Rivers, Coach K) may be in order to influence public perception.

If he had "something under his sleeve", he would have hired a coach a week ago.

The other guy,who is sitting between contracts is Doc Rivers. He's not a coaching legend, but could get the job done IMO.I'd rather have him than van Gundy Silas,or Dunleavy.

Oh......."We're gonna take our time". We have the best job out there. We have all the attention. Everybody wants to come here..................................

    Larry Brown..ugh

Well hurry up and get JEFF VAN GUNDY.

PAT RILEY would be great too.

But I don't think Les hs anything under his sleeve.

God......only a dog...he's caring for his freakin dog.

    Get Rudy back.

Say hello to coach Paul. The guy who has done little better record wise than Rudy in a weaker conference with arguably as good of talent.

It could also be that Brown wanted more control as GM like he had philly, and since that wasn't going to happen in Houston, he went to Detroit. We will see what kind of deal he has in Detroit.

It could aslo be that Brown would just rather coach Detroit than Houston, it doesn't necessarily mean that Les and CD did something wrong.

Joe Dumars didn't fire Rick Carlisle to get Larry Brown to take his job.

That's just sad. Larry Brown...well he truly is a traveler. God. Can't be stable.

Rick Carlisle is who I want now.
