Hope so if he progresses well and is not traded.

I would think Chuck Hayes is most effected by the BMiller signing. he gets to move back to his natural position at PF, and defensive specialist. They will probably keep testing Jordan Hill at C and PF.

He's going to have to earn it. Right now I'm guessing Shane and Chuck are in line to get most of the backup PF minutes. Miller will probably see some VERY limited time there too.

Hill really needs to work on not leaving his feet on D. Hopefully he can cut down the fouls big time and earn a regular spot in the rotation.

The rockets believed in Chuck enough to START him at center all year. Miller and Chuck will be the first bigs off the bench. I keep refering to yoyo interview with dm where he said it was "going to be hard for Patt to crack a vet rotation of Chuck and DA." That was before we signed Miller too. I hope he does get minutes though, because that would mean he earned them and has been ballin....

After the Miller signing, Morey said they are going to continue to try and groom Hill to play center for the long run.

He probably won't see many minutes, barring injuries.

Hayes will play first, he knows how to keep things steady. If we need a spark then its most likely Hill. Hayes is going to surprise you guys next year. If Yao is in the mix that is...

I'm guessing right now that Jordan's tentative role is 3rd C.

My guess is yes. With Patterson pushing him. Chuck goes back to a defensive specialist and Jared Jeffries takes over Brian Cook's spot on the end of the bench.

I think Patterson will be getting more minutes than Chuck or Hill, and I don't think Jeffries will be at the end of the bench. I was impressed by what I saw from Jeffries last year. Jeffries has good size and knows how to play defense, so I can see him possibly playing more than Chuck or Hill, but I could be wrong on that. We have a lot of different pieces to work with so it should be an interesting year.

I would guess that having him at the PF spot would be better for both him and the Rockets. He's not as heavy set as most of the C's in the league, and is more suited for the PF. His D is the reason he isn't a shoe in, but hopefully Sikma cal help with that.

In one of Justice's recent articles he said something about Jordan Hill being moved "exclusively" to center.

hopefully Hill and/or PP will show something special. Atleast on D. I love Chuck but his height (or lack there of) is a liability

Hill stays at C as a project. I don't see Yao playing more than 15-20 minutes at night for the first few months of the season.

I thought Jeffries was really only getting minutes last year cause our team was lacking size. I would think now that we are possibly the deepest in basketball and have plenty of size that he will be on the bench. I might be wrong. What do you guys think?

I can see that happening. We are pretty deep and now have Patterson fighting for a chance to earn some minutes.

Jordan Hill definitely stays at the C spot and continues his growth on and off the court. Unfortunately Yao might have to spend some time on the DL this year and Jordan would have to play large minutes as Miller's backup. I hope Yao can play the full season but third string behing Yao is still pretty hopeful for consistent minutes. Plus Miller probably is only good for about 20 minutes a game anyways at this point. If he isnt getting consistent minutes by november then he could see time in the D-League to get some work.

    Seven forwards/centers:

    ----------
    Scola
    Yao
    ----------
    Miller
    Hayes
    Patterson
    Hill
    Andersen
    ----------

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Hill ends up in the reserve. I mean... who else is going in the reserve?

    Andersen - fo sho
Jeffries - as fo sho as it would seem, who knows
Patterson - maybe early in the season, but why keep a top-half first rounder off the court?
Taylor - Didn't Adelman say he has starting-potential?

    Oh decisions decisions.
