Harden has once again produced a great season, especially since the ASB yet there is a chance he may not even crack an All-NBA team for 15/16. Obviously the team has been a disappointment, with every player regressing defensively and only Harden bringing everything he has offensively, logging a ridiculous amount of minutes since we can't seem to hold a lead once he goes to the bench. Besides the usual contenders: Curry, Westbrook, Paul...there are other great players who have had great seasons on successful or feel-good teams such as Kyle Lowry, Damian Lillard. Even players like Jimmy Butler or Klay Thompson figure to feature heavily in these lists. I think we have to acknowledge that Curry and Westbrook have 1st team locked up. Rightfully so, they've had amazing seasons. Chris Paul has an argument for first team as well, but Westbrook has grabbed headlines with his triple double goodness so that will likely push Paul down to second team. Does Harden belong on that second team? I imagine Klay Thompson will get PLENTY of consideration there considering the Warriors amazing season. What say you?
Yeah, he does, he is an amazingly gifted offensive player - he is all NBA, for sure...top 10 in the league. DD
He's been shut-out of one site's selection. Curious to see how he fares on others... http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on-basketball/25540610/2015-16-nba-award-picks-steph-curry-not-the-only-unanimous-winner 1st Team: Curry Westbrook James Leonard Cousins/Towns/Green 2nd Team: Paul Thomspon/Lowry Green/Butler/George Durant Drummond/Horford/Cousins 3rd Team: Lillard Lowry/Butler/Thompson George/Butler Davis/Hayward/Milsap Horford/Drummond/Towns
I think he should be 3rd Team. Has a player averaging 28 and 7 ever not made All-NBA? I'm actually curious since it seems like that's a possibility with Harden.
He has a small shot at 3rd team, no chance IMO at 1st or 2nd There are 6 guard spots amongst the 3 teams Curry and WB are locks for 1st team CP3 is a lock for the 2nd team and maybe Lowry / Klay / Lillard And whichever 2 misses out of the above 3 will likely fight it out for the 3rd team alongside Harden Lillard has led a team with less talent than the Rockets to a higher seed in the western conference when everyone projected the Blazers to miss out on the playoffs while the Rockets to be a shoe in Lowry has led Toronto to 2nd in the East and Klay is an important cog of a record breaking team So yes, I can see Harden missing out altogether
I hope he doesn't make it at all. All his accolades last season made Harden worse. He needs to be humbled.
with the leaguewide perception that he pushed out mchale and froze out howard, i doubt he even makes 3rd team
I'm not sure about league wide agreement that he is freezing out Howard. Around the league, Howard is disliked much more than Harden. Have you heard the boos Howard continues to get in other teams' arenas?
what a complete joke that butler is getting recognition over harden. bulls are worse than us, butler is worse than harden, and he's missed games this season.
before last week i'd agree with you, but now shaq (with his agent ties to dwight) has embarked on a new anti-harden campaign.....so by the time the voting is done this will probably have fully permeated on down
