This cracks me up. People have no problem spending $50+ on booze for the night at a place like m-bar, but they won't even think about paying $5 to park.

Sorry about the ticket, that seems excessive.

I'm not sure, but I'm thinking parking's cheaper than that $200 ticket you're gonna be paying. :D How much is parking downtown anyway? And how much did you spend at the bar?!

You can park for as cheap as $5, at most $10.

Like bigtexxx said, if you can drop $50 on drinks, you should be able to drop a $10 for parking. Although, $50 is pretty cheap for a night of drinking.

I'm surprised you had a good time at MBar, that place is the biggest sausage fest in town.

Damn dude...I park for free around MMP anytime in the evening...there are meters all over the place, but If you pay attention and not let one of the parking wrangler's distract you, you'll see that you only have to pay untill 6 or 5:30 pm(haven't been to a game in a month). I have NEVER paid for parking nor gotten a ticket parking around MMP for games.

    Where exactly is MBar?

You just have to read the signs. I usually park along Travis or Milam or else San Jacinto. If you get there after 11, you might as well pay for a parking lot or the Kim Son parking garage ($5-10) but if you get out there before then, just read the signs carefully. There is free parking. I've never had to pay and I go frequently on the weekends and to Astros and Rockets games.

    Tough luck... :(

The wham-bam-tram is only convenient for a small subset of Houstonians. <1%.

Trust me all of the business down here have been trying to press for cheaper parking or city own lots instead of these private owned lots that charge up to 2 bucks to park in the main part of downtown. It's ridiculous and causing us less business.

But unfortunatly nothing is happening. The City wants people to come downtown and pushes for events down here but they don't fix the parking problem. Is it so hard for the city to buy one of these private lots that are raping people, build a 5 story parking complex on it charge a flat fee of like 3 or 4 bucks....and give people a reason to not fear coming downtown? Do they not realize they will make more money back then they ever thought.

I guess it's all wishful thinking.
