So, I got a BMW last year after driving a modest Japanese car for 5 years, and I feel like I get treated differently. People think I am made of money, or my family is at least. Cops watch me closer as well, and people's voice tone changes after I tell them I drive a BMW. Anyone else experience this?

I think driving a modified corolla or some old piece of clunk with rims make you look like a douche. A poor douche.

    I want a beamer.

doesnt seem like something like that would come up very often in a normal conversation.

"hey steve, how is your morning going?"
"It's good. Just got into the office after driving my BMW here"

I drive a 528 and I bring it up to people every chance I get. I also like to casually pull my car key out of my pocket and sit on the table, and watch as the tone of people's voice changes when they see that beautiful BMW logo. Yes driving a beamer has turned me into a total douche, and I'm ok with that. I have a great time driving my car.

If you are talking about comfort while driving, you are right.

If you are talking about handling and performance, you couldnt be more wrong.

Don't know what you're smoking, but everyone I know that owns or has owned a Mercedes said it was a complete POS. I've had my BMW for a couple years now and love it still. People I know with Lexus love their cars too, but BMW is still better than any jap car.

For example, if I'm hanging out with some people, and it's my turn to drive, then I say "I'll come pick you up." Then they proceed to ask what I am driving then I tell them...I always try to avoid letting people know I have a BMW, I always say "I'll come get you...it's a blue car."

Jeremy Clarkson changed his mind and said people who drive Beamers are no longer "cocks." It's now the Audi driver.

    Sorry for your loss.

I think the douchiest people are Mercades owners. But, that's probably just because of one douch that I know (whos a huge mavs fan, btw). Every conversation he has with a random girl he lets them know what he drives. Whenever he sits down at a table, he takes his keys out and puts them on the table with the emblem facing up so people can see it. Sad thing is, it's the cheapest Mercades model, lol.

He's short and fat and hasn't gotten any since highschool, so I guess I cant blame him for trying anything and everything...

I could drive a BMW if I wanted to lease a car that I couldn't afford, just to look flashy.

I think, if you can easily afford to drop $80,000 on a 7-series without giving it a moment's thought, then you're probably not a douche.

If, however, you're a BMW driver who's not like that, you're probably a douche.

Just bought a Z4 a couple weeks ago to replace my totaled Volvo. Don't feel like a douche at all.
