Rocket Freak, I dont think Cuttino thinks he is as good as Stevie.

jlaw, what authority do you have? If the Clutch Crew feels it necessary to lock this thread then they will. They dont need a rookie poster telling them what to do.

    NO! Keep this thread up!

I was pleasantly suprised to come in this morning and not find any Cat bashing threads, and I almost started a positive Cat thread this morning. Cat just had an off night shooting. It happens to EVERY player in the league. He makes some bad decisions just like everybody on the team, but his positive contributions far outweigh any negative aspects of his game.

Cuttino thinks he's better than what everyone else says he is, and he probably feels that he's the most underrated player in the league...but I hardly doubt that he thinks he's better than Steve. He passes to Steve more than any other player on the Rockets...but then again, that isn't saying much.

Maybe Clutch can post his thoughts that he brought up in chat last night regarding how Rockets management feels about Cuttino. :D

I think that Mobley does consider himself a star but he would be an idiot to think he is as good as Francis. He can't do all of the things that Francis can and never will.

He did do a good job last night of realizing that he wasn't having a good game and letting Francis take over.

"I gave my energies to make myself a name (in the NBA)," Mobley said. "Now I'm there. I'm not a superstar or anything. But I'm concentrating on other things, as long as I also keep working and keep my love for the game."

Considering Francis is regarded by most people as a superstar, there should be your answer.

Cat seams to become the punch bag of CC.net. Damn he performs. Damn he dosen't. Under the ever longer casting shadow of Wink. Pippen may have an advice or two to Cat for playing in the shadow.

On the other hand, Steve needs Cat at his side for his date with the Finals. Steve is great, is great, great...... Hey, Steve just received a max offer letter. The way Steve goes to the bascket scares **** of human body, if you still remember anything.

Guys, it's a luxury for Rox and Steve to have Cat. It is Rudy's job to ease Cat into his role. Wait, I almost forget Rudy has the tendensy to blame his players for not performming. Poor Cat.

Come on now. Is this really necessary? I'm sure every player thinks he could be a badass or whatever, but Steve and Cuttino are tight. Are they competitve? Yes. But this thread sounds like you think Cuttino may resent Steve. I doubt it. If Cuttino were a selfish guy, he would have effed up that alley-oop to Steve.

What I liked about Mobley last night was he finally stopped shooting. In past years, he would have kept jacking all the way through the game. Even last night, I thought he could have realized his game was off a little bit sooner, but, sometimes you shoot yourself back into positive contributions. That he stopped shooting is what impresses me. He tried to concentrate on his D at that point. Does he think he's better than Francis? Definitely not. Just watch last night late in the game. Even Mobley would get the ball and look to Steve to see how to score.

Cuttino has passion for the game.
Cuttino is hardworking player and is fearless.
Cuttino has the ability and quickness to go one one with most of
    the defenders.
Cuttino has confidence in himself that he is all star.
Cuttino has the green light from the Rox coach.

    But
He has too much confidence in his ability so he overated himself.
He has too much freedom from the Rox coach so he do whatever he wants with the ball.
He is too fearless that he will not hesitate dribbling through a forest to shoot the ball.
He thinks of himself too high that nobody else of the Rockets deserves his pass except occasionally Francies.

I was dissappointed Cat pass to Steve late in the game. I think it was about 1:00 minute left, Rockets up by 2 (I think), they can't get the inbounds to Steve so they pitch it to Mobley with around 5 seconds left on the clock. Instead of just getting off a decent shot in a 1 on 1 situation, he passes to Steve already doubled in the corner who can't get off a remotely makable shot in the 2 seconds or so he had. In short, Cat was too unselfish on this play and a couple more I can remember. But you know what, that is OK--good players make mistakes, and it certainly shows Cat is listening to the coaches and recognized the hot hand. Cat wasn't scoring efficiently, but he stay involved in the game and did other things (defense, more A/TO as a shooting guard) to help his team win. To me that is what you want out of player.

Ok, ok, here we go. First I would like to say that I hate the Jazz, but I feel that this is a good comparison.
Cat is to the Rockets what Hornacek was to the Jazz.
I hate to say anything about a Jazz player, but this seems really similar to me.

Well, Cat does more than Hornacek, but he is not the focal point of the team. He is very important though.

Of course Mobley knows he's isn't as good as Francis. I don't know why there are people who can't be happy with our team and players. It's like there are people who can't praise Francis without trashing Mobley, or think it's a sin to think that Francis and Mobley are both talented players. Just be happy we have one of the Top 3 backcourts if not THE best backcourt in the NBA. I can understand criticism of Mobley, but people just doing things to start a "Mobley vs Francis" debate is ridiculous. Francis outplaying Mobley and vice versa isn't going to necessarily = wins.

I have been following the Rockets for about 7 years now and I really do not know where you got that from.
