he is going to need one. All we need now is Ron Artest in the mix. What a group of personalities. In one offseason this team is going to morph from the Snoozers to the Bruisers, from Mild to Madd, from Pink to Black. Wow. Talk about passion, Francis, James, Bonzi (yes Bonzi), and now Brooks and Scola. Nice guys no more (well Scola is), BUT, the potential for intra-team conflict is high. If this bunch gets in shape, healthy, focused, and plays together, they are going to wreck some havoc in the league. Rick, it's on you to put them together. If you do, coach of the year AND a ring.

Yes, this his has to be a concern.

With Tmac and Yao, these guys need to be bought into that they are role players, which none of them think they are. So I can see one of them starts, and two off the bench.

Steve Francis really isn't an intra-team conflict guy,

It's just Bonzi and James. That's it.

I just hope that everyone on the team knows that Yao & T-Mac are always the first option and should touch the ball almost every time down the court. If this team can gel together and form good chemistry..."damn."

Francis, James, McGrady all had their growing pains. Each one of them has had a moment (or moments) in their respective careers where thinking about themselves was priority #1. Now that:

    1. one of them has a back problem that will never go away
    2. one of them has been given a second chance after being wasted away in Minnesota
    3. one of them is being brought back into the fold even after all his stupidness

I would think they would be more mature now and would be able to try and mesh with one another and everyone else. They have to look around the locker room and realize that this team will probably be their best and last shot at getting a ring. With that in mind, I have faith that it will be successful. Might not sniff 60 wins, but they can grind it out come playoffs.

The only guy in the Rockets locker room that ever caused trouble in recent years has been JVG. I wouldn't sweat it. Plus we now have depth, which we haven't had in a long time. Unless it's Yao or T-Mac that cause major turmoil, we should be able to brush someone under the rug if need be.

RA has a way to deal with players and his system allows for all his players to contribute. Plus he is a players coach ala Rudy T.

Yeah, remember, Steve Francis was only that brat you remember him as under Jeff Van Gundy. I'm not blaming JVG, he was a great coach and I personally think Francis and Wells should have been more cooperative with their coach like TMac is, but Francis was all love and chemistry with the guys under Rudy. He didn't cause problems, they were all friends (who sucked as a basketball unit, yes), and there wasn't too much conflict.

Van Gundy is a "my way" type of coach, and he has always been prone to inducing conflict with players who don't stay strict to his ways. From what I've heard about Adelman, he's much more like Rudy, much more positively facilitating, which is why Bonzi worked well with him.

Francis will be an excellent locker room presence back home in Houston. He'll have fire and passion; let's just see if Adelman can help him help us.
