Ive been seeing the walmart cards on ebay and also noticed that you get 3 cents off per gallon when using a gift card so my question is.....does anyone use walmart gas and is it the same quality as other stations? I have heard both good and bad about it. What is the consensus here? Some have said that it is slightly watered down. Comments?

assuming you're just getting regular, gas isn't just gas? if i'm at walmart and need to fill up, i have no problem doing so there since it's usually as cheap as you will find. my car doesn't explode as i leave or anything.

Most of the gas in this area comes from the same place, the Pasadena terminal. Before it goes to the different gas stations, the major brands will blend it to their own specifications. Shell will blend it with its own detergent, Exxon, will do the same thng, etc. till they have the formula that they want to sell to people. Walmart does the same thing, only their formula doesn't have standards as high as the mafor brands. Thus, they can sell it cheaper than the majors. One thing it is not...it's not watered down. Gas is not soluble in water (although some of the additives are, including ethanol).

So it depends on how clean burning you like your fuel. You can pay a little more for a fuel that leaves fewer deposits in your engine, or you can pay less and get less efficient engine performance over time.

I only buy my gas from Wal-Mart. It's a lot cheaper than the other brands around town, plus its so convenient cause I'm at Wal-Mart all the time. Only problem is, theres always a huge ass line waiting for pumps, and I just know someone's going to hit my car one of these days. :(

It reminds me of getting my oil changed at Wal-Mart. They are cheaper than the competition, but it could be a full days wait before they actually get to your car. Often I get fustrated and pay $30 at jiffy lube.

The big difference between Wal-Mart oil and other oil is that Wal-Mart uses a much more cost-efficient method of digging for oil.

If you don't like the gas, I'm pretty sure they'll let you siphon it back into the tanks and get your money back on it...you better have your receipt, though!

Murphy Oil Corp. runs the gas stations at about 1000(?) Walmarts.

Gas is gas. Unless it's not.
Anyway, Consumer Reports said they're all the same and it's not even worth it to get Premium. Stick to Regular and save your dough.l

If they said that, then they're nuts, and it's another reason not to read that magazine. :)

if it's walmart it's not worth it cuz you'll have to wait a hour in the customer service line then get a middle aged fat woman who doesn't know how to use the cash register.
