    Of course in the PO.

I watched them play last night and their minds were just not in the game.

I think that it might have gotten to their minds that life is easier for them to avoid the Rockets in the 1st round.

Actually I think that neither one of Timber, Lakers, even Mavericks (!) wants to play us in the first round.

In order for us to pass the 1st round, it all depends on whether Yao can bring his monster game 4 times and we have seen that he can do that 3 in a row against some of the best the West has to offer.

Hm...I don't agree. First of, we're not sure which spot we'll take. Secondly, that last shot was very close, I don't think they tried to miss it on purpose. And I know that Lakers and Timberwolves don't want to play us in the first round but not sure about the Mavs because basically they've OWNED us this season (except last game)

I agree the Pups are tanking, all the top teams in the league, especially the Timber Pups dont want to hurt their reputation in loosing to the crappy Rockets in the first round. And believe you me the Pups will be knocked out of the first round no matter who they play, its their tradition. BLA-HA-HA!!!!!

And they rather drop to 3rd and play memphis who is on a tear? They have won 14 out of their last 17 I believe. Now that's a scary team. How did they get so good so fast :(

Memphis is like Utah. They don't have star players and they play hard, smart, and consistent night in and night out. But in the playoffs, Houston is much more dangerous with star players, especially Yao who will dominate inside in a half court set.

Celtics owned the Wolves 4 times in a row in the Wolves' homecourt. Now that should tell you something.

stop saying that..don't you think they would rather play hard and win and get the FIRST place..they are only 2 games behind sacramento...having a first place is more reasonable than avoiding us....is they get down to third seed that mean they would lose home court advantage in the second round

I find that hard to believe. With 20 games left the playoff seedings are still very fluid and as some of the other posters pointed out the Celtics have given the T-Pups fits before.

If we end up playing them in the first round it will be a battle to the finish. The T-Puppies have a tradition of losing in the first round but this team is unlike any other team they've had and in the past two years they've had the bad luck of playing teams who are hot and that they match up badly against.

Could we see history repeat itself with the Rox being the benificiary? I'll wait and see.

That's gotta be it. Johnson, Sprewell and Cassell are both in their mid-30's, Szerbiak, hudson, and Olawakandi are all injury prone so they must be looking to tank and get a good draft pick to rebuild.

Kevin Garnett, Latrell Sprewell, Sam Cassell would never throw a game... KG especially, he is so intense. Flip Saunders wouldn't either. Those guys would be infuriated by even the mention. It's ridiculous to think they would even think about it.

I have to say it is not wise to think of any potential team in Play-Offs in such a stupid way. People struggle for the play-off not only because itself, but they want to have a tast of the Title! TO achieve the championship, you got to have no fear to any other team no matter what is the previous score with them. Don't try to avoid any team, just beat them whoever they are! Go Rockets!

If you knew anything about the intensity and drive that KG has...not to mention Spree and Sam....you wouldnt even dream of thinking such absurd thoughts.

Aint noway in hell those guys throw a game for any reason...especially because they are afraid of the Rockets.

If anything, you would think they would want to play extra hard to catch Sac so they can play the 8 seed...cause the team that gets 8 will be the weakest of all the playoff teams.

Rockets will be 6th or 7th...not 8th....that will go to Utah or Denver.

and Im sure Minny likes their chances against those teams rather than ours, so it would behoove them to try their damndest to get the 1st seed.

Actually, KG is trying to setup a first round matchup with the Rockets so that the Timberwolves get swept. KG will then demand a trade to the Rockets so that he can play with his boy Yao.

That's a dream that brings tears of joyto my eyes but unfortuantely KG is pretty loyal to the Twin Cities.

Of course Roger Clemons did say he was going to retire a Yankee so you never know.:)
