Does anyone STILL think we have NO CHANCE to make the playoffs?

Just wanted to point this out because, I'm sick of the WE HAVE NO CHANCE IN HELL OF MAKING THE PLAYOFFS threads.

Fact number one, the Rockets have won four in a row and 13 of their last 16 games. That signifies a trend upward for a change!

Fact number two, the Rockets are now only 4 1/2 games out of the divisional lead! That's right sports fans, with a major surge and a major break in the schedule we could be knocking on the door of the penthouse in the Southwest division.

Fact number three, the major reason for the trend is we are getting multiple contributions from a myriad assortment of players on the team. WE HAVE A REAL BENCH THIS YEAR! Scola, Landry, AB and the secret X factor, Air Bullard part deux, Novak!

Fact number four, though the Rockets largely have won by slimmest of margins over arguably inferior talent, they have STILL won! A win is a win and a loss is a loss. Anyone can beat anyone else on ANY given day! Frankly, I would rather complain about a mistake filled game like last night that resulted in a win rather than a loss! Good teams find a way to close out games and make deciding plays! The Rockets are becoming a good team! How good? Stay tuned ...

This season is far from over, folks! Like I pointed out two weeks age and AGAIN three weeks ago that Scola and Landry were ready to significantly contribute to the success of the team. This is after Da Da, correctly pointed out AB coming into his own and would ALSO significantly impact this team.

We were both right! Yes, there have been some downer games but, their contributions toward lessening the load for T-Mac, Yao, Rafer, Battier have MADE the difference!

This is a big reason why this team not only potentially not only makes the playoffs IMO but also is a relevant juggernaut in going deep into the playoffs.

Yes, I know cut the catcalls! T-Mac can't get out the first round? Yada yada yada. The fact is, your bench makes or breaks you. That's why we could not beat Dallas in 05 and why we could not beat Utah in 07!

In the playoffs, it's the sixth, seventh and eighth players on the bench that are usually the unsung heroes in the playoffs with the occasional great game from your stars.

Just wanted to point this fact out to the knowitall geniuses like Brooks blow that NOTHING is ingrained in stone and yes, our foes in the division have slipped up on a few games and yes, they potentially will slip up on a few more! So if the Rockets lose no more than 3 times in the month of February we could be talking not only about getting back in the playoff race but, taking back the division!

Bottom line is if you want to believe in this team you will, and if you don't you won't! Me personally, I think we STILL have a chance to do something special this year and potentially shock the world!

Just like Yogi says " It aint over, til it's OVER!"

 

I agree TK, it's still to be determined if this team can overcome their playoff haunts in the past and be resilient and become significant to going deep in the playoffs. One thing is for certain, we have the youth, athleticism and talent I think this year to do it! With Rafer and AB, it's kind of like Kenny/Vernon and Sam I AM from 93-94 only AB is a blur compared to Sam I AM!

In March, we will no doubt be tested that's why it's imperative IMO to gain significant momentum towards making a big time playoff run this year!

Our bench has to continue to contribute to give our starters adequate rest so they will not be as fatigued come potentially playoff time!
