Is anyone here a building or demolition contractor?

If so, you can really help me out. Either reply here or send email to jgillard@avint.net

I would be eternally grateful. [IMG]

Fadeaway, my father is a semi-retired building/painting contractor. Is that good for anything?

My grandfather used to own a construction company in Houston (called the Paige Erection Company, believe it or not).

It does you no good now, but I always like mentioning the name of my grandfather's business.

I was an insulation helper at a chemical plant in La Porte one summer. Then I regained my sanity and got a job in the airconditioning. [IMG]

What I'm looking for is an estimate on the cost to get a detached garage built.

12' x 20' with one interior light fixture, one exterior light fixture, one exterior duplex wall outlet and three interior duplex wall outlets. No electric door.

I'd like to get the cost broken down as much as possible (ie: how much for the materials, how much for labor, how much per light fixture, etc..)

There are only a few contractors in my area and they are all really busy and can't give an estimate for at least another week or so.

Maybe there are some good construction websites out there that you might have heard about? I haven't found anything worthwhile yet. I'm also looking for websites about the installation of new heating systems.

I figured posting here would be a long shot. Worth a try, though.

    Paige Erection Company... heh [IMG]

to get an estimate of that nature your variables come from the electrician. you should call a local electrician. the carpentry part is the same no matter how many lights or outlets.

i do construction, but since labour, building codes, materials etca re much different down south, i have NO clue what that would cost you. also you might want to contact a cement contractor, he could quote you the slab.

    peace
