I can't believe I'm saying this....but I miss Cato's play. this season he has actually showed the promise the Rockets thought he had when they signed him.

Why is he out for that many games? I hate to sound cold but most people get 3 days for a family funeral.

    No (to missing KC).

(Every family, every family situation requires its own terms.)

I have no problem with Kevin missing games for his grandmothers funeral and spending time with his family.

Most people don't work on weekends. Most people don't have the Kind of leverage with their employer that Cato has either. Cato is a millionair and can take the time with out having to worry about getting back to work so he can pay the bills. Most people just can't afford to take more than three work days off.

I miss him to though. Never thought I would say that.

I miss him, but not so much if Ming played more minutes. :p

To be blunt, how can you put a GAME ahead of FAMILY? Maybe he was close to his Grandmother(?), maybe there are legal issues to deal with (inheritance), maybe he needs to support his other relatives in this time of need. He'll be back, and it gives the team a chance to see who is going to step up.
    Ming has, anybody else?

I miss him the first game he was gone. This team needs him back, is he playing tonight?

    No.

(And I am always pleased when he actually plays, and so far this year he has.)

I also miss Cato. The thing is, without him, Ming is our only legit center. We have to give center minutes to Collier and Griffin, and it's hurting us. The day will come when Ming starts and Griffin can play minutes as the backup center, which would reduce Cato's role, but that time is definetly not now.

    Wally Pip?

All I know is this. Since his first season, when Cato plays big minutes, the Rockets record is much much much better.

So I was never happy when he didn't play.

    Hell, everybody miss him.

    1. The point guard miss him, because thats two more easy assist a game; on easy alley oops.

    2. The fans miss him for the simple fact that we are tired of seeing Collier getting the starting nod, just because Cato is gone.

    3. The coaches also miss Cato because (refer to No.2).

    DaDa,

I cant believe you pulled Wally Pipp out of your behind. lol

I suspect by the lack of answers to your question, alot of people dont know that he was the poor sap that played 1st base for the Yanks the game before Gherig started his amazing streak. :D

Pipp didn't have a long term guaranteed contract! Cato is covered.

it's a rather scary proposition that we are actually "longing" for cato - seems kinda immoral :D

given how yao ming is playing, our center position is looking damn healthy for this season & the future. 48 constant minutes of pressure from the 5 is a very nice thought.

Cato is no offensive force, but the man has played D and rebounded like a mad-man this year. I want him back soon. After seeing Yao last night, they are the perfect compliment. Yao cannot D much yet. Cato plays hard D, and the opposite team forgets about him on O. In comes Yao and wow. This could be a great tag team.

I think the Rockets would have probably won the Phonix game with Cato...but on the positive side, Cato missing a few games has opened the door for Ming to get more comfortable and he seems to have done well with it...so things might have worked out for the best anyway.

The Lakers missed Cato. They wish they would have seen more of him and less Yao Ming... :D

Actually it has given MT more time to come back too. It will be interesting to see how the minutes go when Cato gets back. We will need him against the Cavs. Ilgauskas has been a real force so far...
