You know, that feeling that this team is special and might just be able to pull this thing off, or at least go MUCH farther than anyone expects?

I don't know, something about game 1 reminded me of the determination we used to see back in the glory days. We have a ways to go, obviously, but that special spark is definitely there.

I'm not going to say anything about tonight's game 2 because I don't want to jinx us, but to be honest, I'm starting this thread now so I can come back to it right after that game ends. Because I have a feeling...

I have felt that way all year. Especially after the uncertainty regarding Tracy McGrady's status was resolved when he came out and announced his season was over. From that point on, this team has steadily progressed and improved. This is a really strong team that can beat the Lakers if Ron Artest shoots smartly and well, and if they continue to play smart, disciplined, hard-nosed basketball on both ends of the court.

If the Rockets beat the Lakers, they should go all the way. That's right. An NBA title this year. But first they have to beat the Lakers.

Now that would certainly be special.

Watching from home tonight. I'm living in Fullerton these days, so it's a longer drive to your place. I can make it up there for one or both of the games in Houston -- let me know.

I believe this team should win 60+ games in regular season. Rockets is a contender. Their worst nightmare is Jazz. the next worst match is Blazers. They can beat any other teams. Without Tmac, Lakers is a little better in plain talents, but Rockets are full of true winners (Shane/luis/Hayes) and fighters. Lakers are fakers. They have talents but didn't finish anything big.

I will not say whether I agree with you or not - only that I'm scared to say it out loud. :p

As a hockey fan, it's like never saying "shutout" before the game ends, or you jinx the goalie.

I have more confidence in this team than I have in a very long time. I was hardly even nervous watching the Portland series, because I just had the feeling that we'd take care of business.

I was a lot more anxious watching game 1, but I knew we weren't going to get embarrassed in this series. I knew we'd fight. With each win the confidence grows...

I have the same feeling as the OP

This team is extremely RESILIENT and I can just sense the inner-confidence they have in themselves.

    Lets shock the world.

This team could certainly be special. Winning tonight gives them an overwhelming probability (not certain though--see Mavs 2005 or Suns 1994) to beat the Lakers. If the Rockets do get past the Lakers, I like them to win the whole thing. They'd have to beat a tough Enver team and either the Magic or Cavs. I think they can do those things. This team seems like they are peaking at the absolute right time. Everyone knows their roles and for the most part are sticking to the gameplan. The defense is simply amazing.

We'll see, we've only won 5 games and have a very long way to go, but I will say it. I believe!

I had the feeling that we would lose Game 1 but we won.

Now I have the feeling again that we will lose tonight. I hope same thing is going to repeat.

I have a feeling we'll lose in 5. Prepare for losing 4 games in a row.

There was blood on both sides, however,
it's a paper cut for the Lakers while we saw it stream down Shane's face.

You can say, if lakers also worked that hard we had no chance,
Or, that just defines the exceptional character of this ROCKETS team, and at least on this facet the lakers are no match of them.

Before the series I was thinking of 2004 ALCS in MLB,
Now that we are up by 1, let's enjoy watching these rockets fighting
