Obviously according to a Chinese article, Yao told the reporter that he has heard about the rumored trade and SF3 has called him to give him a brief idea of the trade. When asked whether the Rockets organization asked his opinion on the trade, Yao said 'no'.

And finally Yao specially mentioned that he wish that Cato were not in the trade.

I heard, I think it was ESPN's David Aldridge that Yao gave his blessing for the deal, and said he was excited about playing w/ T-Mac

Yao hasn't been with the team long enough to earn the respect for management to contact him before a trade goes down.

On SportsCenter last night, Mark Stein said that Yao had given Rockets management his blessing on the trade.

yes - that is what was reported on EPSN (I saw it too) - whether the report is ture (i.e. Yao is OK) is debatable, but ESPN made that claim

I saw that myself. I am commenting on whether it's true that Yao okayed the deal.

Whether he blessed it or not, we should not care. If I were the Rockets, I wouldn't ask him about it. Yao will learn to live with it.

Yao has played the good soldier his whole life. I'm sure he doesn't want this deal to go through but he'll live with it.

    Yao who? We're getting T-Mac!
Just jokin. I'd be surprised if Yao said ok to the deal to send Stevie, Cat and Cato for T-Mac and crew. He seems to be a really loyal guy maybe to the point it would even hurt the Rockets.

Yao may be loyal, but he should knw that this is a business. If we get Tmac, it will be worth a little hurt feeling of Yao's, he'll get over it.

He is witnessing the Rockets trade a "star" player even when he asked to not be traded. Fine too bad, he will deal with it, but why would Yao believe the same will not happen to him. He might as well go to a team of his choice that will not trade off star players unless asked. Why not play for the coach who went over to your country to bring you to America. Why not play in front of the biggest asian population in America. Why not succeed Shaq as the next dominant center in the city of LA. Why should we bother with asking if Yao cares, because if he is not happy he will leave . What makes you so sure he will stay. The fans that say he will never be great. The awesome great wonderful city of Houston. A staff that traded off all the depth in the team for superstar who calls himself greedy. Espn even said T-mac doesn't like to share. Yao is not an aggresive demanding type. He will go along with management and then do the passive aggresive thing and leave no harm done. Then we will have to deal with it right. T-mac couldn't lead Gooden and scrubs to past the bottom spot, where can he lead us if Yao is gone? Great the Houston Magics. Maybe the next number one pick will have the luxury of being informed about changes to his team. Are we saying this is not Yao's team? Maybe it is important after all.

    He understands it's business.
But don't expect Yao to be loyal to the Rox right now.
If he were not happy here, don't be surprised if he would deline the extension
    and go to other team.

Do you really think the Lakers are only hiring Rudy to lure Yao to LA next year? It would really suck if Yao left.

Yes, from what I've seen, it's very important to Yao to become even more famous. So he is definitely all about going to play in front of the largest asian population in America.

And if he thinks the fans in Houston are tough, wait until the fair weather LA fans get a hold of him.
