Does a fan dying in a forest make any noise???????

I know full well the prevailing attitudes on this and several other BBS fan sites concerning topics that are not germaine or pertinent to the topic at large. Especially if the topic has absolutely nothing to do with the incumbent NBA team.

I wanted to briefly mention that the Rockets occupy a great deal of my life at times, but I (like everyone else here), I have a "real life" that takes a considerable amount of my energies too.

Having said that, and risking the urge of our administrators to bump me to another (maybe less travelled forum),I want to pay homage to each of you by mentioning that when some of you regrettably stop posting here due to some incapacity, let us know somehow. You are family.

Regardlessof how you feel about the politics of sports, your most favorite player of all time, or you side on some on-going debate,we are indeed family.

This past week the Clippers lost an ardent fan, and one I remember arguing with many, many times.

Tom. Known as Alanis and cannibal(also canibal) on some boards died unexpectedly in LA at the age of 36 years young.

    Too damn young.

Thanks for the opportunity to know you, Tom.
Thanks for the opportunity to share with each of you.

    Cheers.

That's terrible Popeye. My condolences to Tom's family. I agree with you. Everyone, let us know if you're going to be gone for a while.....not to make light of the situation in any way, but am I the only one that thought something may have happened to thacabbage a couple of months ago?

    Well that depends...

does the fan make any noise, but then is there anybody in the forest at the time to hear it anyways. However, if a person is there then there must be some way to communicate so help can come to the fan, etc...

    OR

    no.

Anyways, I would like to send my condolences to Tom's family. Barzilla is on...don't know why he isn't posting...

I too send my condolences to Tom's family. Good of you too bring this subject up Pops, I've also wondered about the sudden disappearance of popular posters. Many times, I'm sure that many posters reincarnate themselves into different alias'. As well as thacabbage, IROCit, AntiSonic, Rocketgirl (who just doesn't post here anymore)and Jeff before the SOR movement have all have left us temporarily, among many others.

This does make you think. I mean, we often think that those who stop posting simply don't want to anymore...but this proves you never know. Terrible, this.

Popeye, how did you find out?

The guy I have not seen in a long time is Rockfan...where are ya, buddy?

I almost forgot about Rocketgirl...whatever happened to her?

I have run into Rocketgirl in the MSN basketball chat room. She was the one that got me to start posting in here.

Azim, i was wondering about you and RoCkO. You guys used to always be in the rocket chat room. RoCkO has started popping in lately, said he has been very busy.

BobFinn*, I occasionally still visit the Clutch Chat room, though not as regularly as before. Like ROckO, time has been a problem, as well as the fact that the chat room was giving me problems awhile ago (I constantly was being exited from the room involuntarily)

    CriscoKidd,

You know we'd all miss you, too. That's why we wish you'd change your name to OliveOilKidd while you still have your health.

ps: popeye, thx for the thread. I don't mean to make light of the subject. Call it a BBS wake.
