Only a hand full of people have seen it and those that have were forced to sign non disclosure agreements. An article today in the NY Times might shed some light on the films content. The man was an incredibly gifted writer and a fascinating persona.

TCITR was always my favorite high-school novel.

People romanticize Salinger too much. The truth is Ralph Ellison was THE superior writer in about every way imaginable, but had far less fanfare.

You can't even compare Invisible Man to Holden Caulfield with a straight face. Salinger's work is a romantic, kid's tale, who lunatics twisted into a blueprint for going on a killing spree. But at the bottom of it, there isn't much of anything to the book but teenage angst.
