Recently (1 week ago) we were having our big international tournament at my school, and as I jumped to block a shot, I landed and my leg was hit (from the outside of my right leg) resulting in a nasty dislocated knee cap. After about two hours a doctor popped it back into place, and I have had a rather sturdy knee brace on and crutches (avoided putting weight on it thus far). The doctor said 3 weeks, then come back for a checkup. However, the main problem is that I live in Beijing, and the doctors have been horrible so far. I have not seen a specialist yet (meet in two more weeks) and then I will start physical therapy. If there is anyone who has had a similar injury, or a doctor who is knowledgeable about the subject, should I be walking or placing any weight on that leg? Should I be stretching? it feels very tight and I cannot really straighten my leg when standing (probably because it has been bent while crutching around for a week now). Are there any steps I should be taking? It is still fairly swollen (fluid perhaps) but the doctor said this is normal. Any information would be helpful
