Just read on the bottom of ESPN and it said that (I believe) Doctor Clanton said he let McGrady play too early while he should of been strengthening his knee. I for sure am pretty much disappointed at this doctor for doing this, what do you guys think?
"I've told Tracy that I will take the blame," Clanton said. "I think that I let him return to play a little too quickly. That was obviously his decision as well. Perhaps if we had strengthened his knee more at the start, maybe he wouldn't have had these symptoms." http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3928531 I'm really disappointed....
What can you do. Sometimes the first or second option doesn't work out, and in retrospect you would have been better off going with the third option. Without more information, I'm not going to blame the doctors.
I think we are hearing more damage control for a player who has not done the right thing since May of last season.
wow, our medical staff is pure trash. You can do strength tests on legs easily. The one in rehab needs to be at least 95% of the other one before you even consider playing.
It's all about PR for now. Especially with $23M on the books next season. Rockets need Tracy to be healthy and happy. Rockets benefit even more if the Doctor takes the blame. It's "Hey, 29 NBA teams. There's nothing wrong with Tracy at all. The doc just goofed. Trade please, done. Thanks, bye."
Doc Clanton? Ike Clanton? "Why Ike, whatever do you mean? Maybe poker's (or knee surgery's) just not your game Ike. I know! Let's have a spelling contest!"
Some other quotes from Tracy's doctor(s). "I prescribed a round of quiticillin for Tracy in Orlando" "I mistakenly gave Tracy horse tranquilizers before the 4th quarter of every game vs. Utah in the playoffs last season." "I recommended Tracy gain 20lb of fat last summer to help strengthen his knee."
Just because he took the blame, doesn't change the fact that tmac still has to go through microfracture surgery.
