It seems that I don't really enjoy watching the NBA other than the rockets. My number one complaint is the officiating and Stern. Its becoming too WWE like for my taste. It just seems like the other sports have more integrity when it comes to the game itself.
People ask me: "Did you watch that Mavs-Spurs game last night!?!? It was great!!" I'm all: "No. The Rockets are out, I don't keep up with basketball. Sorry." They get upset I don't watch "great games." They wonder why I don't watch "LeBaby James" or "Steve Nash" and I am a homer like that.
I'm with you. I can't watch basketball anymore unless it's the Rockets. Generally if I sit and try to watch a full NBA game now (sans Rockets) I will fall asleep.
I used to be the biggest NBA nutt out there. About 5-6 years ago, I could probably recite the entire 12 man roster from every team. Now I watch every Rockets game and some playoff games. The refs have ruined the game for me. Stern's refusal to do anything about it have made me very apathetic towards the rest of the league. Hardly know any new players or any non-stars.
I'm still a real big NBA fan. I tend to follow younger teams though. Kings Thunder Blazers The younger teams tend to be more exciting.
Usually watch basketball in general... I don't like to watch every game, though I do own league pass. Besides the Rockets, no other teams I specifically watch with the exception of San Antonio because that's all that they broadcast here.
Rockets only. Although I actually watched and enjoyed the Smelltics dismantling of the Cavs last night. That's the first non-Rockets game I've watched from start to finish all year. Man, I really miss the good ol' days when every team had an identity. Lakers had Showtime, Celtics had the ugly white-guy brigade, jazz had Stockton/Malone (so much fun to hate), Blazers had RIP City, Sixers had The Dr., Bulls had Jordon, and of course the Rockets had Dream. Nowadays, it seems like every team runs the same offense, runs the same defense, all arenas look exactly alike, all uniforms look alike and every team has 12 different versions, "stars" switch teams every year, teams change uniforms every year, coaches switch teams every year....hell, even teams are switching cities nowadays. Oklahoma City Sonics? or Thunder? Charlotte Hornets? Thunder? New Orleans Hornets? or Jazz? It's so damn confusing. I guess the NBA will never be like it was during the 80's/90's.
NBA? Wtf is that? I don't even like basketball. I'm only here for the random pictures thread and the pr0n actresses thread.
I went from being a rabid NBA fan who purchased League Pass every year to follow the Rockets (in Austin) to basically not caring at all in about a 4 year span of time. I watched a total of about 5 minutes of NBA game time this season (almost none of it Rockets due to lack of coverage in Austin). I follow the Rockets season via box scores on the internet (muck like I did as a kid reading the newspaper). I also follow Kevin Durant's stats via box scores. That's all.
Yeah, I'll pretty much watch any NBA game if it's on television. MLB? Astros only. NFL? Any game televised
I'd like to hear some responses from people on here who exclusively post in the D&D/Hangout. As for me, I watch all the Rockets games, and most games on ESPN/TNT.
Nope. As is stands now we're spending 8.5 days a year to watch 82 Rockets games. Thats enough for me. (of course, the finals will get me watch some...esp the "back to the wall" games)
The NBA....IMO, is probably the most boring sport to watch during the playoffs unless it involves your favorite team. The officiating sucks at time, there are soooo many blowouts, and really....just isn't very entertaining. I watch the Rockets, and 5min here and there when it involves the Mavs or lakers losing. Really have NO desire to watch anything else in the NBA.
No, I haven't watched a complete NBA game this season. I was a big NBA fan years ago. The things I hate about NBA: over-hype those so called big stars, terrible officiating, all-star calls (never seen from other sports, MLB, football, etc.) Not many good enough new blood, always those familar teams and familar faces on TV, etc.
That's how I feel about the league. Basketball used to be my favorite sport to follow. But it has seriously dropped since the Rockets/Mavs series. Since then, I really haven't cared too much. I'll root on my Houston team...but the rest of the NBA?....meh.
I voted 'doesn't matter who plays' but I'll generally only watch the West, or the Toronto (which is about the only team I get on TV).
Voted for yes it doesn't matter who, but I don't really watch as much as I use to especially once fantasy season is over (no more scouting purpose). Refs have too much control over outcomes of games.
I voted yes, only the Rockets, but honestly it's the rockets a few other select teams... I'll watch the Thieves occasionally and I like watching the Kings a bit now that Carl's there... and sometimes I will watch the Bucks and Golden State if Buike or Jodie might play. but I'm not a huge fan of the NBA as a whole
