Do you watch sports even if you have no rooting interest?

Do people watch sports on TV when you have no rooting interest in the player/teams in a given game in any sport?

I find that if I am watching a game, its hard to enjoy it if I don't care about the outcome. I usually need to either root for or against a team in a game. Anyone else feel the same?

    I normally don't.

Really what I should say is if I don't have a team I'm rooting for going before I start watching the game, I'll pick one a team to root for pretty fast.

If the competition is good, I will watch. The outcome may not matter, it's just entertaiment.

Only for college football. I'll pretty much watch any college football game. Otherwise, a Houston team has to be playing or it has to be a championship game/series.

For me I dont care. I can watch just about any football or basketball game. Having a team to root for or against just makes it more fun.

College and pro football are about the only sports I can do that on a regular basis during the regular season.

I do it for certain pro baseball, pro football, college football and college basketball games. Depends on who is playing.

Same here. I have trouble watching a baseball/basketball game if I don't have an interest in one of the teams or players. College and NFL football though I can watch no matter who is playing.

I watch all football games college or pro no matter what. All NBA games and the NCAA tournament. If you are a true fan of the sport, then you watch more than just your own team IMO.

    Baseball, yuck.

I can watch any sport without a rooting interest. It's all about the excitement of the game, stellar plays, etc.. Also, fantasy can give your enjoyment another dimension too.

No. If there is nothing in it for me it is a waste of time.

I pick a team to root for pretty quick -- though, since it is artificial, I often end up switching teams before the end.
