Everything that seems to come out politically seem to try and have some kind of poll attached to it. See See 4 out of 5 Americans want this thing . . . . At this point I think alot of them are suspect. You poll for the result you want it seems Rocket River
RR reminds me of this guy... Rogue Scientist Has Own Scientific Method TALLAHASSEE, FL—Only months after abandoning a tenured position at Lehigh University, maverick chemist Theodore Hapner managed to disprove two of the three laws of thermodynamics and show that gold is a noxious gas, turning the world of science—defined for centuries by exhaustive research, painstaking observation, and hard-won theories—completely on its head. The brash chemist, who conducts independent research from his houseboat, has infuriated peers by refusing to "play by the rules of Socrates, Bacon, and Galileo," calling test results as he sees them, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. "If you're looking for some button-down traditionalist who relies on so-called induction, conventional logic, and verification to arrive at what the scientific community calls 'proof,' then I'm afraid you've got the wrong guy," said the intrepid 44-year-old rebel, who last month unveiled a revolutionary new model of atomic structure that contradicted 300 years of precedent. "But if you want your results fast and with some flair, then come with me and I'll prove that the boiling point of water is actually 547 degrees Fahrenheit." ...
wth, someone ram a poll up your ass? Spoiler Its more about the SOURCES than the polls itself. If you cant trust the source, very little amount of accurate polling will give them validity. What does an interest group with HIGH SELF INTEREST get out of being totally objective?
Polls attached to biased media are bound to be biased as well. Polls are especially dangerous because people assign credibility to polls but some are far more scientific than others. To understand how useless these polls are, ask yourself if media employees write the article before finding the poll or after? Do websites which display polls with articles consistently display polls eternally for the same topic so that we can compare accurately? or do they only do it when it suits what they want to say? When the biggest media tycoon in the history of the world is willing to tap phones of dead people, how can I expect that this culture doesn't trickle down to at least his organization? It If you don't know the media sources you use head to toe, then you are powerless in the war they have launched against your ability to differentiate between accurate and inaccurate media info. If you followed the Arab Spring on twitter at all, it was/is a textbook case of biased media coverage. The most random things would turn into news, and the most massive things would dissapear, at the behest of people on the ground being murdered.
