    Yes.

    Pros:
1.) Tax it, so more revenues and less debt for government.
2.) Will clear out tons of people in jail, saving even more money.
3.) Will help reduce the drug violence in Mexico.
4.) Will help people in pain without side effects.

    Cons:
    ???

I don't believe so. People who are going to try harder drugs would do so without mar1juana as the spring board. I would consider alcohol to be more of a gateway to all the other stuff including mar1juana.

I already do. I prefer it to drinking and only do it in the evenings as a way to relax. I'll also smoke if I'm nauseous or have minor pains.

No, because my job still doesn't allow its use. But, it should still be legalized.

The government could tax all kinds of goods and services without having to legalize a new one.

Expenses are not a sufficient reason to jail less people.

Drug violence happens because poor countries have a comparative trade advantage on agriculture, and American demand makes it worth killing over.

mar1juana has side effects; just not the same ones as prescription pain relievers. It does't have the same effectiveness as those drugs either, that's why people are also willing to smuggle and steal Oxy, at el.

It is legal here, and i have never used it and never will. But it should be legal. It is pathetic that it is illegal but sigarets and alcohol aren't

I voted yes last November in Washington and look forward to buying some legally in early 2014 from a state licensed store.

Those may be side effects but I've never bought "you can tax the hell out of it" as a legit argument to legalize it. Same goes for clearing people out of jail. There are plenty of things you could simply legalize and tax, that doesn't make it right. There are too many rational and logical reasons to legalize it to use lame stuff like that. I don't smoke myself but there's really no reason it shouldn't be legal.

Well people can wish all they want and companies can lobby all they want.

But I have been thinking for 20 years that this would happen. I don't smoke anymore and haven't really for 10 years. But if it were legal I would probably be more prone to do it on occasion. Right now being in school, work, and having a 3 year old... Just not worth the risk. I bet it would help with my insomnia to.

My point is that none of those thing should be legal based on the fact that they can be taxed

That is not a reason to legalize it.

It is a positive effect of legalizing it.

I'd drink less if it were legalized, so yes. Drinking is much more harmful than smoking mar1juana.
