Happiness is a very relative term. Will they be happier now that they are out from under SaDamned? No doubt.

Don't open your eyes you won't like what you see
The devils of truth steal the souls of the free
    Don't open your eyes
    Take it from me
I have found you can find happiness in slavery.

    Name that tune!

It's finally starting to show in Baghdad.
It's about time Sadam is out of power.

And yes the Americans will help lead the Iraqis to a better life. In fact, they already have just by ridding them of Saddam.

Do you think Bush Administration will bring Iraqs happiness?

I guess you are only talkng about the innocent Iraqis who survived the Gulf War, 12 years of economic sanctions, 12 years of no-fly zone, Operation Desert Fox, and finally the ongoing war. Yeah, I bet those who survived are happy it is all over. It remains to be seen if the surviving Iraqis will remain happy once the new government built to be USA friendly takes over.

Well, hopefully the new government in Iraq will be more Iraqi friendly as well. Plus, maybe it will be more Kuwait friendly too?

What amazes me with posts like this is that they don't seem to take into consideration Saddam. He was responsible for the Gulf War and the sanctions. We tried one thing to make things better for Iraq, it's neighbors and the U.S. and it didn't work so we tried another. Then another. So finally it was decided that the only way to make things better was to remove Saddam. The problem was waiting so long to do it. It's the waiting (and Saddam) that caused all the problems with Iraq for those years. Saddam is responsible for those innocent Iraqi deaths. If it wasn't for him there would have been no Gulf War, no sanctions, no no-fly zones, etc....

I think it is up to Iraqis to find happiness.

I think the Administration will make them safe, and free, and when their government is established, they will rule their own country.

The US will only keep a military presense there, like we did in Germany and Japan.

A good ending to a bad dictator.....has anyone seen North Korea lately?

    :)

This is an American's perspective. An Iraqi perspective is different and may well blame both Saddam and the USA for what transpired post Gulf War. Remember the the thread title was not: "Do you think the Bush Admin will convince the America public that the Iraqis are now happy?"

Doesn't look like Iraqis are blaming America to me...they're waving more US flags than the protestors

I think you and others here are obsessed with making Saddam wear the darkest black hat and the USA wear the purest white hat. This is the kind of dangerous thinking that leads many to believe that 9/11 was in no way America's fault and must have been because some crazies who "hate our love of freedom".

"Broken" is the best thing that Reznor ever did, IMO. What an angry album that was but beautiful at the same time. The hidden tracks are especially great, mainly "(You're So) Physical" which is a cover. Who had the original version (and no the answer is not Olivia Newton-John, lol)?

How on earth did you get all that from the fact that I brought up Saddam? You were blaming America for all these deaths and problems Iraq has had, and I mentioned that perhaps th adictator guy (Saddam) had something to do with it. Now you think I am a rep of Fox News or something.
