I know it’s a suggestive title but I’m talking about music. So, I was with my girl yesterday and I noticed a difference in the music that I play around her. No UGK, modest mouse, Face mob and gorrilaz. I had switched it up but I guess I always do. So here’s kind of what I listen when I’m with my girl. What about you guys?

    Daytime (ridin’ music)
    Maroon 5
Michael Jackson (not the pop stuff, less “thriller” more “rock with you”)
    Alicia Keys
    Lenny Kravitz
    Coldplay (I like it)
    Justin Timberlake (she likes it)
    Raphael Saadiq

    Night time (baby makin’ music)
    OG Ron C’s F action
    Old school Kells
    Jodeci
    Prince
    Marvin Gay

This thread had so much potential for fun...

My wife is from Mexico so I've started listening to more latino music around her, she's now listening to more american classics around me.

when I was with my ex, she listen to stuff I listen to but she listened to more R&B than I did and I listened to more soft rock/alternative than she did.

What pissed me off more, she hated 311 when she was dating me, the douche bag she dated after me, was a hardcore 311 fan, and she started liking it, how r****ded is that?

My car jams to 6 awesome cds that consist of the ABC song and other similar songs all the time.

Isn't it a rule that if it's your car you pick the radio station? PLEASE TELL MY HUSBAND THAT!

Naw, you gotta compromise. If not my girl would probably go crazy, she's likes a lot of those cookie cutter scratchy voice rock bands of which i can't stand. I like some rock (old Jimi, red stripes, and modest mouse) but mostly any rapper that i can tell is truthful. Some really gutter, old school Scarface, Z-ro, Chamillionaire, Pac, Talib Kweli and some of Boosie's stuff.

You just have to find a happy medium. My girlfriend likes indie bands and most of the smoother, more 'listenable' selections on my ipod. I just save my precious hard rock aggression for when I am alone, and can enjoy it at the highest possible volume.

    driving by myself:
    -fall of troy
    -heavy heavy low low
    -p.o.s.
    -public enemy
    -tool
    -tera melos
    -pelican
    -black dahlia murder

    driving with girlfriend:
    -radiohead
    -mgmt
    -dear hunter
    -sufjan stevens
    -sondre lerche

There isn't a girl in this world who could force me to listen to any of the crap on the OP's first list. Except for Raphael Saadiq because I've never heard of him. But thanks, now I know why crap like Maroon 5 or Coldplay still get to make music.

It really bugs me when people insult other people's musical interests.

My guy knows to put on the BTBAM, Pantera, Children of Bodom, Becoming the Archetype, Metallica, Trivium...and in lighter moods the Shins, Coldplay, RHCP, etc.

I love the fact that we like the same music. If he finds a new metal band and says it's good, I know I'll like it. Then again same goes with movies. My sister tells me that it's not normal to like the same things, but I just consider it a blessing that we don't ever have to fight.

Hey, I did not say that! Whatever, if he likes Coldplay, so be it but if he listens to JT despite not liking him, I don't understand that. My answer to the topic would be a no.

Off topic: I would also never share any passwords with somebody else.
