This board used to hate L Head and want to trade him. After the Spurs game, now what do you think?

I want the team to get better. If we can do that by trading Luther, then we should do it.

It's nothing personal against Luther Head. It's not like the guy is a cancer or something. Quite the opposite -- he's a good, team player.

Trade em. Wafer. Also possibly Steve. Trade em.
Its weird... Morey said he had offers but Head but wanted to keep him. He also says we are looking to clear cap space for a big man (Mutombo). So... If thats the case... Who the hell is the player he hopes to trade?

Some guy who makes more than $2 million and isn't playing, I think.

Given the current precarious injury situation we're in with T-Mac, Shane, and Ron all less than 100%, he's being cautious about giving up a veteran guard. If they back into the swing of things, maybe mid to late December, than it will be much easier for us to entertain trade offers for Head. There's no big hurry for signing Mutombo. He probably won't play much at this point of the season anyways.

If we are going to trade someone, it will be Von Wafer... Head has been more consistant this year than Von.

Actually, the current situation about Luther Head is this: Morey probably has offers on the table, Head for cap space or possibly a second round pick. Now we're 1.6 mil over the lux, and Head's contract is 1.9 mil for the year. So even if we do trade Head for nothing, we still do not have room to sign Deke. Morey undoubtedly wants Head to go in a package with say, Francis. But no team will take up 5 mil in salary.

Head would bring more back if only because he's played more in the league. Luther was a 1st round pick in 2005 and has played in 241 games. Von Wafer was a 2nd round pick in 2004 and has played in 54 games.

You wanna trade Head while TMac is out? Uh uh, don't think so.

We need head right now, in the worst way.

When Mac comes back, bring up this poll again.

If there are no available TEs, a very likely scenario. To get under LT the Rockets need to trade more than just Francis's contract. They'll need to move over $8M with the goal of taking 25% less back.

I think we should trade him when his value is the highest, when probably most of us don't want to trade him.

Head is a streaky player. Hopefully, he has some good games here for awhile.

Right now, he is quality depth, and yes, he's valuable to us. But, once Barry is back, I think he's the odd man out. His salary is perfect for getting under the tax, but I don't know if he'll be enough to bring in Deke. We also have some TE's we might decide to cash in, if we don't think we'll use them in trade.

I'd love to do a swap with CHI for Selofosha, since Luther is a hometown hero in CHI, or in some type package to get Hinrich, but that won't help us get under the luxury tax or sign Deke, so that probably won't be what happens. It'll probably be for a draft pick ... but, I do think he's worth more than a second rounder. Hopefully, if he plays well, someone else will too. I think they are trying to figure out if Steve will step up to the plate, because if he doesn't, he'd be the one to move. But, I think they want to give him all the time he needs, just in case he becomes a hometown hero.
