Yes or no? It seems everyone wants to trade him, but he had a decent rookie season and is a good backup, so do you still like head?
Yes,I think Head can be useful as a backup SG who may improve with time. He will however face competition from Snyder and V Span which isn't a bad thing.
Yep - Just over 2300 minutes as a rook is a TON (I believe 4th or 5th most among 2005 rook's)- He handled the load well, and was able to contribute. Good character guy and a hard worker.
Does this poll play any significant role with Luther's future in Houston? I think it's an unanimous choice that we want to keep Head, we could surely use his athleticism, youth and talent. Problem is, do the Rockets think so? On top of that, he's our only available and valuable asset.
If we can use him in a package to get a bonafide starting SG, trade him. Just don't give him away for nothing.
I dont think its so much that people are hoping for a trade of Head, i think he has some potential especially since the league is getting smaller, he wont be as undersized as maybe 10 years ago. But that being said, and with our offseason moves our backcourt has gotten more solid and the 4 position and a backup 5 becomes more of an issue. Head is thus our most tradable asset, that we would be willing to move. And is the only real bait we have to land ourselves another big man. So its not so much that we dont like head, just that we know we have bigger holes than the one he occupies now.
the title of this thread should be Do you want Head by DaDakota Jokes aside, I thnk Head is a young bright spot for the rockets. I loved his Game in College and I loved what he gave us last year considering he was only a rookie.
Hahaha nice title. Who voted No? What a disgrace http://www.jimbelldesigns.com/images/illini/LutherHead/LuV_Head.jpg
What exactly does Head do for this team? He doesn't have a good enough handle to play the 1 (forget about playmaking), defends terribly at the 2, and can't create his own shot. He's basically an undersized spot up shooter, who isn't explosive enough to be effective in a half court setting. This is the best time to trade him, preferably in a package with Juwan Howard.
Of course, I like Luther as a player, but that is why he is one of our tradable assets. You have to think about the team's overall needs when trade decisions are made.
I like Luther Head. I can't say that he's all out better than otherp layers, but he is a good player..good member of the Rockets. And I like him for that. He's a Rocket..and..he isn't bad..he doesn't suck..but I wouldn't say that he's amazingly gonna dominate a matchup..usually I don't think he has much of an advantage over other players, but I think that he can match up well and contain other guys and help provide some stuff like hustle or whatever. So I like him.
