    Why?

    What's the rationale?

Do you WANT to be sick?

ARGH! Those questions BOIL me over!

I personally do not smoke, but I don't have a problem with those who do. Geez, can everyone mind their own bee's wax for once?

If smoking were SO BAD, why isn't it considered contraband? For that matter, why isn't liquor?

I don't care if you smoke in your own home or car, but I don't like it when you feel the need to smoke in public and blow it in my face. There is this little thing called second hand smoke which, I believe, has been proven to be cancer causing. That makes it my bee's wax.

I also hate going home and smelling like an ashtray just because I wanted to watch a game somewhere other than my apartment.

People who throw butts on the ground piss me off as well.

I have a HUGE problem with smoking.

I'm not going to harp on the obvious health issues...someone else can do that.

I hate the smell of cigarettes. Especially when I'm eating. For me, it can ruin a good meal. Worse than than, I hate the fact that most live music venues end up being like the inside of a BBQ pit (except I enjoy the smell of burning pecan or oak...I just don't like the smoke in my eyes). I went and saw a live band this past Saturday night, and by the end of the show, all I was doing was rubbing my eyes. I had to get up and walk around outside during their breaks, and the next morning I woke up smelling like an ashtray. I knew it would be this way, but I really wanted to see the band. This is always my dilemma. Do I go see the show and brave the smoke or do I stay home and miss it? Invariably, I end up missing more shows than I'd like and enjoying the ones I do see less and less.

I deplore the fact that it isn't socially acceptable to just go and stomp the living **** out of those who are smoking. As far as I'm concerned, cigarettes aren't killing these morons fast enough. I'd love to help where I can. I'm glad the country is wising up and putting restrictions on public smoking, but I just wish it would move quicker.

Fortunately, I can still go to the early weekend shows at Mucky Duck to catch the "smoke-free" show.

    Tobacco contains urea and ammonia

Human urine contains urea and ammonia

No need to ask me if I smoke

For those of you who consider it your bee's wax, then why aren't you lobbying for it to be an illegal substance, like mar1juana? Why aren't you lobbying to ban alcohol while you're at it? There are how many DUI deaths per year?

Until we're ready to ban these substances altogether, then don't harrass people who enjoy them.

For whatever reason, I find the idea of purposely inhaling toxic substances into my lungs more revolting than injecting opiates into my arm (not that I do that either). So I've never smoked anything in my life.

The other thing that bugs me is how smokers can't ever seem to use the ****ing ashtray. I see more butts on the ground than in the ashtray. When I was at school, the outside of the dorm was littered with butts everywhere. What is the deal here?

what the **** do you think we're doing here?

Complaining about something in a public venue is a very important part of the lobbying process.

C'mon, Pole you know what I mean. Of course we're just having a discussion here, but I mean talking to our government representatives who I might add both smoke and drink.

I started smoking cigarettes when I was 13.

I will turn 41 years old in March.

I had my last cigarette on New Years Eve.

I have now gone 18+ days without cigarettes, and I think it might be for good this time (I hope & pray). After smoking for so many years, I did need a substitute, so.......

Since the New Year, I've been chewing on cinnamon sticks like a man possessed. I've also been working out for two hours about 5 times a week (I joined a new gym on New Years Day) and each workout begins with a 3 mile run on the treadmill, which is something I definitely wouldn't be able to do if I was still smoking.

I don't smoke (except when I drink sometimes, how many times have you heard that one), and I hate coming home smelling like it. However, I don't complain about places that allow smoking. If it bothered me that much, I wouldn't go to the place. Smoking is legal, and if venues want to allow it, that's their right. They're making more money by doing so. I mean, you're at a bar, come on.

Pole, I don't know what kind of music you're watching, but it seems that a lot of musicians might be mad if a place didn't allow smoking, and may not play there as a result, since a lot of them smoke themselves. Then again, that doesn't stop bands from coming to the Erwin Center....oh well, just a thought.

My last stogie was November 15, 1999.

I have been tobacco free ever since.

all of my friends(and my brother and my father)still smoke.
it is a battle every day.

the key to quitting smoking is to simply NOT SMOKE

I get pure tobacco flavor without lighting up. And it keeps my hands free to do other things.
