i just love yao ming. did you know that he was deaf in one ear? he's so great. i think he's the best player ever. i never root for any team unless yao ming is on it.
well they may have other players that you like say it was tracy mcgrady's orlando magic vs steve/cuttino rockets or scottie pippen/jordan bulls vs hakeem's rockets or say it was calvin murphy's rockets vs dr j's sixers or say it was ralph sampson's rockets vs magic's lakers

I'm a fan of the game but no matter when or who the rockets play I gotta root them. It's in my blood...I been watching Hakeem since I was pooping in my pants.
Ok, I've got a situation for you, what if the Rockets are secure in their confrence standing, but play a team near the end of the season that isn't. Let's say it's a revamped Phoenix Suns team that is clawing their way into the playoffs. The Phoenix team could even give a top seeded team some real trouble in the first round, maybe even take it to seven. Realistically, this Phoenix team is no threat to the Rockets because as everyone knows Yao>Shaqtus. Would you root for Phoenix to win, secure a spot and give a Spurs or a NO team trouble, or would you want to win even with the scrubs on the floor? Would you root for the Rockets to win even then. OR Let's say the Rockets are having a dismal season. They are near the bottom of the well, let's say we're tied with a Memphis team of sorts. If Memphis loses they get more balls in the lottery than we. If we lose, we secure the worst in the league. Would you root for Memphis to beat us such that we take the bottom spot? While I can't give a definite yes or no to each of those situations, they make me think....

There's no honor in tanking dude. What if you don't get the pick you want. Remember Boston tanked so they could get Duncan. They didn't. They had the worst record in the NBA.
Ok, I think that is a very fair assessment. True, there is no honor in cheating, but I just can't think of my love for the Rockets to be truly universal, that there can't exist a moment in time of doubt and even rooting against them. Ironically I'm comparing my fandom to religion, which is sad and awesome at the same time. I can't see myself retaining the faith at all times, and yet gun to my head I can't think of a situation where I directly rooted against the boys in red. I think that's why I still voted yes. Even after the SF3 trade (the second time) I still retained my fandom. I honestly thought I'd hate this team if they did it, they did it, and I was ok with it. It hurt, but I still don the #11 jersey whenever we have a home game. Even when we brought in RonRon I thought he'd be a threat to my fandom, he isn't, he reinforces it. I guess I wear rose colored glasses to this team, but I can't admit that to myself.
i dont get the question, well i get it, but you can predict the results without even asking it..... As for the videos, you root for whoever is wering a rocket's uni at the time, i don't get why you'd want to vote for Tmac as a raptor, since that was before he was in houston. that's like asking if you would root for Sir Charles as a Sun.
