Hey guys I'm sort of a new member to the clutch fan community and to the Rockets fan club. I'm a senior in high school and I don't really know much of the history about the rockets. But I believe in due time listening to you guys talk about the Rockets that I can eventually gain plenty of historical knowledge on them. One game we used to play while we didn't have much work to do in class was the Remember the time game. We all asked each other about big events that happened a long time ago. If the event was hot enough we would spend most of class reminiscing on and on about it. So does anybody care for a good game of Remember the Time in Rockets History? Videos would be great too.
Remember when Robert Reid who was a small forward took over at point guard when John Lucas was kicked off the team and Allen Levell broke his wrist to help carry the Rockets to the NBA Championship in 86?

When I was a kid back in the summer of 1993 (before Rockets Championship), I went to a basketball camp. Kenny Smith ran the camp, with Robert Reid, John Lucas, Chris Morris (Nets), and Mookie Blaylock. Robert Reid, gave us tons of help, gave us some history, and wouldnt stop talking about Pistol Pete Maravich. He eventually made us watch the Pistol Pete video on the 5th day of the camp. Guy was a class act. True gentleman, and one hell of a basketball player. On the flip side, I think I smelled liquor/whiskey for the first time in my life at that camp. That being on John Lucas' breath at about 9am, while he is coaching me on dribbling techniques. Dude had a flask with him. True story.

I remember when the Rockets would dominate sub .500 teams. Those days are long gone. When I was a kid I would look at the schedule and know wich games were garanteed victorys. I wonder if we'll ever see those days again.
Do you remember the 2001-02 Houston Rockets who had a spectacular record of 28 wins and 54 losses? Do you remember Glen Rice's big money contract and the basketball stylings of Walt "the Wizard" Williams? <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/UwU841N7Y8o&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/UwU841N7Y8o&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Remember in 95 when the NBA screwed up and gave David Robinson Hakeem's MVP trophy? <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/hW4uXlRGAF0&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/hW4uXlRGAF0&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Do you remember the time when Steve Francis was a street baller? <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/HOJSFki2qsA&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/HOJSFki2qsA&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
htownfan_9210 -- This will give you a good jump on things... from the Rockets birth in 1967 up until 2003 when this video was produced. http://www.clutchfans.net/news/1425/video_history_of_the_houston_rockets/
Remember the time when the Rockets came back down 2-0 to defeat the Phoenix Suns in 1994, and the very next year came back from a 3-1 deficit to defeat the very same suns team
"Keep in mind that this was 2003, so Rudy Tomjanovich was the coach, the Toyota Center was still under construction and Tracy McGrady was living comfortably in Orlando." -Oh those were the days Clutch!

Don't forget the HOUSTON Rockets are a team with championships and nba finals appearances and MVPs. This ain't ORLANDO or TORONTO.
Your subtle attempts at duschbaggery seems to be a lost cause. HE'S GONE LET IT GO. Your vast knowledge of the Houston Rockets and love for the team just seem to be overshadowed by your vain attempts to stick it one last time to Mac.
Welcome to the board. The link Clutch gave you says so much. Anytime the big dog gives you something it's a big deal IMO. The real fans here put the team above all and truly bleed Rocket Red. Glad to have you
U guys cannot even imagine how much I wanna see these kind of things happen with our team now! I was just a little clutch fan during the Championship days, only about 3 or 4 years old! However, I remember just tiny pieces of watching these games with my Dad! And growing up in Houston its easy to see the passion in Rockets fans!! It really makes it hard not to LOVE the Rockets! I would give almost anything to see our Rockets back in the Championship and gain on the respect they earned last year in the playoffs! So I guess what im getting at here is even though I was just a little guy during the glory days, I really wish I was old enough to share the excitement with the everyone!! You'll never find fans like ROCKET fans! CLUTCH CITY BABY!!!
