Do you *really* know John Kerry?

If you look beyond the botox-injections, makeup and fake tan, what is really behind John Kerry? I took several excerpts from recent Wall Street Journal articles.

His aloof demeanor severely limits his ability to get things done. In 19 years in the Senate, Sen. Kerry sponsored 11 bills that had to do with health care and not one of them passed.
Total number of bills sponsored by Kerry: 371
Total Number of Kerry Bills that Became Law: 9
How will he make policy with a Congress that is *highly* likely to be Republican controlled?
He clearly has no history of political coalition-building skills.

He is the Democrats' version of Bob Dole in terms of charisma. This in combination with his aloof demeanor will not be well-received by the masses in today's appearance-focused culture.

Kerry has voted to raise taxes on just about everything, notwithstanding his current proposal to raise them only on "the rich." He voted against the first Gulf War but for the second, only to oppose the $87 billion to finish the second. He once voted against the death penalty for terrorists, though he now says he's in favor of it. These will all be losing issues in the General.

In the General, Kerry will have to defend 20 years of liberal Senate orthodoxy. Now and then over the years Mr. Kerry has shown a glimpse of interest in challenging his party's status quo (say, on education) but he has always retreated under fire. He now offers no policy that would upset a single Democratic interest group. The man has no backbone.

To Republicans, Mr. Kerry is a tax-and-spend heir to their other favorite targets from Massachusetts: Edward Kennedy and Michael Dukakis, under whom Mr. Kerry served as lieutenant governor. And Wednesday conservatives were already blasting Mr. Kerry's post-Vietnam activities as a high-profile leader of veterans who turned against the war.

"That was a movement of conscience," Mr. Kerry said when questioned in New Hampshire this month about a 1971 demonstration in which veterans camped on the Washington Mall and later threw away their medals in protest of the war. Given these actions, John Kerry has no respect for the military’s methods of recognizing heroism and sacrifice.

Mr. Kerry sided with Republicans again in 1998 in backing a shorter holding period for capital gains, a concession that fellow Democrats criticized as a giveaway for the rich cashing in on the stock-market boom. Wait, I thought he was against making the rich richer?

John Kerry vigorously opposes gay marriage. A slap in the face to those who live this lifestyle.

Simply put, this man is not fit to lead.

I wonder if JK takes Botox, gets fake tans, etc. so he won't look as old and tired as T_J's act.

Anybody who responds to this post in a serious way should be taken out back and chastized mightily.

Yes its true that Kerry is going to have a hard time working with Repub. congressional majorities. In that case all the better. IMO domination by one party hasn't done the US very good whereas in the 90's and 80's when it was split our economy was booming.

If you like limited government a divided government is the best because the executive and legislature will hold each other in check.

Great analysis T_J. I am not surprised by the liberals' no-content responses. They're quick to attack, yet offer no substance when presented with a reasoned argument. Kerry appears to be the Democrats' latest flavor of the month indeed. Wait until they decide to do a little digging and we may see another Dean bandwagon jump-off-a-thon.

I think Michael Savage puts it best. First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fear you. Then they worship you.

Although not surprising in the least, the liberals are unable to respond to even a single criticism!

So liberals, do you agree with Kerry's decisions to vote for the War in Iraq, oppose gay marriages, provide a tax cut for the ultra-rich (cap gains), desecrate United States Military medals, and pander to special interests? Great! Then vote for him in the primary!

Michael Savage ripped that off from Gandhi who put it, "First they laugh at you, then they attack you and then you win."

You see, they are not used to being attacked. They have been the ones attacking for 4 years now. Here on this board they have strength in numbers. They run here because this is virtually the only place where their extremist positions are accepted. The blind are leading the blind. When you smack a bully in the mouth, as I did, they are likely to cower and back down, as they have done here. What's the matter liberals? You can dish it out, but you can't take it? Waaaaaaaaaa

The Ghandi quote may be similar, but its very different. So quit equivocating.

When you come shuffeling around every couple of days trying to poke at someone, failing, and then running away giggling to yourself because you award yourself some sort of mythic victory only you can see, and prance around dancing up and down chanting nonsensical gibberish about your own version of the world, and painting coluorful but meaningful pictures as though they could overcome your own failings, don't be surprised when, after a while, your initial shuffling approach is met with:

" Oh, look. It's the village idiot come to play for us again."

Well, this one of my favorite recipes, and, in fact, I will share it with you, so you're welcome in advance!:)

    Fried Crappie Casserole

Soak fish in milk 2 to 3 hours. Dip fish in flour. Brown in butter. Put into dish. Brown pepper and onions in butter until limp. Add shrimp soup, mushrooms and 1/2 mushroom juice, lemon juice, shrimp and season to taste. Pour over fillets and bake at 350¡F for 30 to 40 minutes.

    Bon appetit!

Sam, I see you are still smarting from the sting of the Tax Deferred Conquest as well as The Stradivarius Conquest. I have had a nice little run against you of late. You are a defeated man, in desperate need of vengeance. You shall not have it.
