As I watched the Rockets this past weekend, seeing the production of Tate, Cousins, Gordon, Jones, etc., never once did I think of James Harden. I appreciated everything Harden has done for the Rockets franchise but I enjoyed seeing ball movement and multiple players being involved in a WIN!
After the last Lakers game I knew Harden was done and there was no future to be salvaged, even before the press conference. His body language told me everything. Relieved to be rid of the drama and I’m watching a bunch of young guys stress-free
I know we have a tendency to make things overly binary, but you are allowed to both like the new team and miss him. I love watching the young guys hustling around and try to earn their keep. Tate in particular has all the makings of an H-Town cult legend like Beverley, Von Wafer, and a long succession of favorites. But it also seems undeniably true that basketball is so much easier for James than it is for any of these guys. Watching James get whatever he wanted whenever he wanted was a thing of beauty that I hugely miss.
No. I’ve enjoyed it so far. If we stink, maybe in 1-2 year’s I’ll start missing him, but thats when brooklyn will be done and we get lottery picks from them so I’ll have something new to be excited about.
Not in the slightest and that’s not a knock on him as a basketball player. I can appreciate his time here and still be happy he’s gone.
Not at all, I’m enjoying seeing more than free throws and step back 3s. As great as Harden is, his style was never particularly entertaining to watch. Silas seems the perfect coach for this team as well!
