you are right, this dude was a reality tv star does everyone know that? someone thinks there's no correlation between pop culture and politics @Os Trigonum
I put a poll out there and want to know what other people think about pop culture that's the point of the thread you can choose to participate or you can choose to think i'm trying to trick you into tricking yourself
Do you like Pop Culture mixing with Politics? Do = question indicator you = not me like = find it favorable pop culture = popular people or trends mixing = blending with = include Politics = activities related to governing a country, state etc ? = Question Yes =favorable No = not favorable @Os Trigonum @RayRay10
Pop, rock ,rap you name it i don't like it in politics.I do think that it is okay that they are aware of what is going on but that's it .
thank you for giving a real answer ! there's no right or wrong answer, just want to get opinions. like real ones. i thought the Do and ? was good clue but apparently some people on this thread are confused. @Os Trigonum
is it effective? the president is a reality tv star on a show that portrayed him as business genius, but it's a show. like ESPN's First Take which Clutchfans would give their left nut to be on. But at the same time, should I listen to LeBron because he feels whatever he says is the most important topic? But I'm a James Harden fan, so he hasn't told me who I should follow.
Apologies for getting off on the wrong foot. There's a long history of pop culture and politics merging when when the time is right. When the intent is for positive change, I think it is a good thing. A good example... Go Rockets.
Me personal i'm not a fan of Lebron but what he thinks is his feelings the same with Harden.Their has been others that have open there pie holes like nugent and k rock whom have open their pie holes and said nothing smart so i don't listen to any of them even though they have a right to voice what they feel.
This is what I said. You starting a thread about yourself with a bunch of dumb pictures of pop references and a lie about what I said is an excellent example of the problem.
Do I care that they say things? No. Do I care what they say? No. Do I reserve the right to either mock or praise them? Yes.
For the most part its good they bring awareness to issues. Usually issues they bring awareness are causes outside of politics. When they get involved in current affairs it can be annoying and condescending. However Bill Maher and John Stewart have been really good even though i dont always agree with them. They are knowledgeable but they are supposed to be given the nature of their programs
There’s nothing about me on this topic It’s just a yes or no question and some reasoning For the answer
My answer is no, mainly because I have no idea if LeBron or Billie Eilish or Donald Trump (pre-2016) have anything more than a superficial take on politics and I don’t like how they can influence millions just by saying things. That’s not me complaining about them, hell, might as well use the power if you got it if you think it’s for good, but trusting an athlete or a reality show, failed businessman for political advice, or really any advice beyond their field, is just insanity to me. It would be like going to a librarian and asking them what it feels like to play professional basketball...they might know how to play, might even play some pickup ball on the side, but all they can give you is an opinion (elbows and a-holes).
