Then congratulations, you're overqualified to be an ESPN Talking Head. From a Nugs message board I post on: Naturally, there are a lot of Nugs fans sending nasty e-mails to ESPN right now.
Who the hell is Fat Lever and why should we care that ESPN didn't have a pic of him that they had permission to use handy?
Yeah, that's pretty damn stupid. He was a top player for a lot of years. He's far, far away from "obscure."
At the very least people should remember his name. I couldn't pick World B. Free out of a crowd, but I remember the name and the fact that he had a rainbow-type of shot. All the benefit of having Bill and Calvin as Rocket announcers.
Wow thats pretty sad. He was one of the best rebounding guards ever and definitely not an "obscure" player.
I saw this on ESPN myself this morning - it was sad. http://www.basketballreference.com/players/playerpage.htm?ilkid=LEVERLA01 110 on the HOF scale - not bad.
fat lever was great but didnt get mixed up with coke later on in his career which led to his "obscurity" sort of how shawn kemp ended for the younger kids
He even played for the Mavs later in his career although he was injured a lot near the end. Definetly not an obscure player.
Dude, Fat Lever was a pain in the side of the Rockets. So was Michael Adams. I hated Lafayette Fat Lever. http://www.nba.com/nuggets/chat/wherenow_lever.html
I hated those two with a passion. Along with Alex English, it's a wonder those Nuggets teams didnt get to any Finals.
