I always carry my luggage with me after I lost one. Link 'That's No Camel, That's My Baggage!' 2 hours, 56 minutes ago Oddly Enough - Reuters SYDNEY (Reuters) - A baggage handler wearing a camel suit taken from a passenger's luggage has left Qantas Airways red-faced, with Australia's national carrier investigating a potentially embarrassing security lapse. Passenger David Cox complained after he saw a baggage handler driven across the Sydney airport tarmac Wednesday wearing the camel suit that had been packed into the baggage he had checked in only minutes earlier. Cox, a marketing manager, had checked the camel suit and a crocodile costume onto Qantas flight 425 from Sydney to Melbourne in a large bag which had been marked to say it was carrying animal costumes. He said he was standing near his boarding gate and at first thought nothing when a child said "there's a guy with a moose head." But then he looked up and saw his camel costume. "I obviously was flabbergasted. My jaw dropped to the ground," Cox told Australian Broadcasting Corp. radio. Qantas chief executive Geoff Dixon said Friday the incident was being investigated. A baggage handler had been identified on closed-circuit television and faced disciplinary action that could include dismissal. "What has happened is completely unacceptable and is unacceptable to the vast majority of decent, hard-working Qantas employees," Dixon said in a statement. "We are acutely aware of heightened community concerns around the security of baggage," he said.
People hate travelling with me. I'm cursed. I get stuck sleeping in airports on very routine trips. They lose my luggage more often than not. Truly, I'm not a fan of air travel.
When I travel with my family, just about every time, one person or another's bag is lost. A number of times, it's been mine. The last time I traveled, I was subject to a full-blown security search. THEN, after they were done with me, one of the idiots DROPPED MY iPOD! I was so angry, and it still pisses me off everytime I look at my iPod.
Actually pirc, I believe Sam was making reference to some threads and hijinks involving he and B-bob. I believe they were joking about Furries, people who dress up in animal costumes and have sex.
It could have been worse. His suit could have been stolen by the (robotic) baggage handlers at the DENVER airport. Seriously, that joint is creepy.
not a fun story, but i ate some airline food once that caused me to throw up about 8 or 9 times during the next leg of the trip - which was a 10 hour flight. thank god pan am went out of business.
My experiences are more frightening and dangerous, rather than fun. Damn airport security!!! damn them to hell!
Dude tell me about. It's not easy to go through security when you have over 20 SAUDI ARABIA visas in your passport. This happened to me last year. Security: "Your destination is Saudi?" Md: "Yes" Sec: "Are you with the US army?" (he says this with a smile as if he was saluting me or something.) Me: " No sir." Sec: "Oh....(he loses his smile) Get into that search box over there, and may I ask why you are traveling there?" Me: "To visit my family, who are American......" Sec: "Sure. Please go over there sir." They take 35min searching through my stuff. They even wanted to take apart my laptop! Damn Dallas Airport!
TSA , which are the people who check your bags and are the ones at the security checkpoints screening your stuff and giving you a pat down if they so please, are $13/hour nihilistic jerks with Napoleon complexes that don't give a damn about your luggage, property, or your concerns/feelings. If you happen to be in an airport where you bring luggage to them and they check luggage out in the open, do not give them special instructions on how to handle your luggage. They will do exactly the opposite of what you tell them. "Please remember to close that cause it will spill all over inside my luggage"...be prepared to have it spilled all inside your luggage. Complaints about them? The protocol is fill out a form and mail it, good luck on getting a response.
Man, I had a problem one time with airport security as I had to go somewhere in California. This is what I showed up to the airport dressed as....
you know, i remember reading something about this. can't remember exactly. gonna have to google some stuff up. all i know is that people find it extremely haunting.
The Denver Airport was talked about a while back in this thread. There are some pretty informative posts and links in there. Denver and airport are highlighted in there so you can find the posts that pertain to it.
