I should just go see a doctor or something, but I have some type of allergy. It's definitely seasonal. Tends to come up in the spring and fall. But the weird thing is that it's also indoor. It only kicks in in the mornings and evenings when I'm home. Outside, I'm fine. Anyone else have seasonal indoor allergies? On a related note, my girlfriend followed by all the women in her family developed a food allergy. She's allergic to wheat (gluten). Technically, it's worse than an allergy because her immune system actually damages her body when she consumes wheat. I've come to appreciate how everything we buy has wheat (flour). We can hardly eat out anymore. I kind of miss going out to eat all the time like we used to, but we're probably better off. Anyone else have (or know of) some interesting allergies?
Not interesting, but normally every Spring I get my sinus allergies pretty bad. This year, it hasn't been too bad so far. My most uncomfortable allergy has to be poison ivy....man that stuff sucks. My Dad can roll right through the stuff, with no reaction what so ever. BUT if I do that I will be taking Oatmeal baths for the next couplf of weeks.....
Im supposedly allergic to stainless steel, so everytime i wear normal glasses i get rashes, so its either contacts or titanium frames... Plus shaving is always a pain... it freaking rashes up.
I don't have any major allergies, for which I am very thankful. I have friends who have horrible allergies, like having a head cold 365 days a year.
welcome to my world..... but add asthma on top of that. dogs, cats, grass, dust, etc etc. a single pinenut can kill me (and almost has). thank God for allegra-D.
try what SWT said. i used to take allegra in high school and it worked wondered. took a long stretch of time for it to take effect though. interesting allergies? i'm not sure if it's an allergy or not, but whenever i eat something my nose always runs. i mean the food doesn't have to be spicy or anything... just food. it's really annoying because i can't enjoy the food w/o going to the restroom to blow my nose (can't do that at the table). i'm always walking around the house with a paper towel or toilet tissue in my hand. sometimes to blow my nose, sometimes to eat.
Whenever I watch poor basketball, I get this nervous twitch that causes my finger to rapidly push the channel button on the remote...It's been flaring up recently...
I was too, as a child. I was allergic to grass and chocolate, so as a young child I couldn't play outside or eat candy. Life was not good. Thankfully I grew out of it, or I would have offed myself by now.
Supposedly I'm allergic to a kind of grass mold. I've never mowed a lawn in my life. I have a doctor's excuse. Fortunately, no food allergies (or at least not that I'm aware of). Just tobacco smoke. I can't go anywhere near a smoker without feeling lots of effects. I have a hard time in bars.
I have allergy induced asthma. I'm allergic to cats, dogs, mold, grass, etc. PS - Did I mention I have a dog and refuse to give him up!
I didn't have any allergies until I was 21 or so. That summer, I spent a lot of time in a breezy apartment with a very hairy cat. I developed a cat allergy that apparently expanded to include mold. Somewhat later, I went to Rennes, France, which apparently experiences very high mold counts at that time of year (the locals tell me). It was so bad that I was still suffering from severe reactions despite a double-dose of Benedryl that was completely putting me to sleep. The rest of my family had no trouble. Since then, my allergies have subsided and I rarely have any trouble anymore, and not enough to take medication for years now.
I'm allergic to every thing known to man and Houston is the world's worst place to live with allergies. I've been on allergy shots for 10 years. My worst allergy is bermuda grass and of course my only passion if golf. *sigh* I need to move but you can't hardly get a Texan out of Texas.
Highest Oak pollen day ever recorded in Austin today everything was coated with thick yellow dust – I feel like I have asthma.
For any allergies that cause runny nose/watery eyes, etc., I highly recommend a nose spray called Nasacort. Ask your doctors for it!
For anyone with bad allergies, I would highly recommend one of those Ionic Breezes from The Sharper Image. Kind of expensive, but they work. My wife has really bad allergies, plus asthma. Before we got one, she always had to use her inhaler at least 2-3 times a night. After we got one, she has never had to use it during the night. Plus, they are silent, and they don't have any filters. You just wipe it down with a wet paper towl or wrag once a week.
