I have had a Wii since release date, and I recently picked up the new TWoods game with the controller addon. I played for a couple days, and was simply, done. And I went right back to playing my other console. Every other game I have bought for the Wii has been tossed aside for a deeper, more complex console game.

    What games are worth playing?

    and

Is it just me, or is the Wii a family novelty?

I haven't really found much worth playing. I bought Muramasa recently and have enjoyed that, however.

I used to have a Wii. Played it like twice, then sold it and bought an XBOX360. The Wii is a piece of crap.

Sucks for everyone who bought into the hype when it came out. The Wii is basically a kid's toy. Not meant for anyone above the age of 10 or below the age of 40.

There is some good stuff, but it's scattered. Not really a steady stream of good games, and lots of the third party stuff is crap. The library is really lacking, overall.

Still, there are games I would not have wanted to miss and I wanted to check out (Mario Galaxy, New Punch Out, Metroid, upcoming New Super Mario Bros., etc.) and I wanted to try some of the motion controls so I picked one up.

Wii is more a supplement to having a 360 or a PS3. Either one of those + Wii is a good combo.

But if you already have a 360 or/and PS3, don't even bother getting a Wii. Just use that money to buy yourself a couple games for the consoles you already have.

    What?

Did you even read what I wrote? Why are you telling me this? I don't understand.

DS is a different story. Great collection of games.

I wasn't telling you anything. It was a comment about what you wrote. Take it easy.

No, I mean your comment doesn't really make any sense. I wrote why I got the combo, because of the games I wanted to play.

Can't play those games without the system.

Although I never play Wii I think the value you could potentially get out of Mario Galaxy and Tiger Woods alone were enough to warrant the purchase.

But I was saying that if someone already has a 360 or PS3, to not even bother getting a Wii. To just spend those $250 on some games for the consoles they already got. Mario Galaxy and Punch-Out are good, just not really worth purchasing the whole console for. :)

This. I have a PS3 and a Wii. The Wii is good for when company is over ( older relatives and kids usually) and the PS3 is good for everybody else. Also Super Mario Galaxy and the ability to download old NES, SNES, and N64 games makes it a good buy.

So you are talking to the OP, then? That's what I meant. I just didn't get why you quoted me and told me not to get the system....right after I wrote I had the system and why. lol

But yeah, IMO they are worth having, if you are any type of regular gamer. Someone who just casually plays might be a different story. Though one could argue the casual gamer is also the major appeal of the Wii.... so I guess that's probably why Nintendo is selling so many of them.

No more heroes is an awesome game. Punchout is fun as heck too. Never played it, but saw it got a lot of good critical reviews, but Mad World looked good. Zelda is good, and Mario Kart is the only game besides guitar hero that's played at parties where majority of the people don't play games.

It's definitely more of a family type gaming system. it's something you can do if numerous people are over. If you want a real gaming experience it's not really gonna offer anything compared to the 360/ps3. The one game I found worked well on the wii was the Metroid Prime series. It uses the wii remote better than any other game I have payed.

Im not sure why people keep complaining about the Wii. Sure, if you got caught up in the hype a couple years ago when it first came out, I might understand, but its pretty common knowledge this is geared towards the non video game fanatics/group entertainment. I enjoy video games quite a bit, but I loathe playing with the typical hand held controllers...which is why i stick to the PC end. I picked up a Wii knowing that I would never play it unless I have company over.
