...or do you get someone else to do it?

Why would you hang them if you have dryers? Unless you can't put them in dryers...

Plus hanging to dry them makes them more difficult to iron.

I use a dryer because I'm lazy. I live in a roof apartment with good sun exposure and plenty of line to hang them, but the idea of a hauling a bunch of wet clothes from the laundrymat to the line doesn't appeal to me.

Dryers tend to shrink clothing. I hang dry shirts that I don't want to turn into 60X SM.

Yes, this is true. My girlfriend hang dries almost all of her clothes except undergarments. I hang dry certain ones and dry the rest.

    I hang my shirts too.

It's hard enough trying to keep my stomach from expanding without worrying about my shirts shrinking...

I just started hanging up my work shirts and dress shirts. Everything else goes in the dryer. More than anything else, it's to control lint.

I haven't found a way to control shrinking, which has been a steady problem since I met my wife. :p

When you take them out of the washing machine, stretch them out while they're wet, then hang them up. This works great for the short sleeve polo-type shirts I wear to work.

There is only one thing I can think of that is much too large to put in my dryer.

Not my johnson, silly, but good guess.

    My comforter.

I put everything in the dryer. I'm supposed to lay my chones flat to dry, but I'm too f'ing lazy.

That, and I don't have a washer/dryer of my own. I'm not about to haul baskets of damp clothing halfway across my apartment complex just so I can hang them. Clothes are much lighter when they're dry.

One of my worst pet peeves is when shirts shrink. I hang dry any shirt I intend to wear to work at least for the first 6 months of it's life. After that point, they aren't going to shrink and are probably starting to look a little dingy anyway.

I hang it right after I take it out of the washer. After it is dried, I put it in the dryer for 15 minutes to remove lint.

this cracked me up! yup....i dry for about 10-15 min and then hang most all of my shirts and pants and then i dry the remaining stuff that i know won't shrink or i'm not worried about shrinking. i never iron either so if it hangs, it doesn't need it as much. at least that's what i tell myself.

Today I have to do laundry. :( At least we have a washer and dryer :D

I hang our shirts (in our laundry room, not outside) and dry everything else.

People still hang dry their clothes in the US?

One of my biggest pet peeves in India was/is people who hang dry their clothes out in the balcony of their high rise buildings. Extremely tacky IMO. Also, I don't want to see anybody's bra, panties and boxers hanging out.

Hang dry in Houston? You are kidding right? With the humidity, it's gonna take 3 days just to dry a shirt.

Is it true that dryers also promote fading?
