Do you guys regret no trading Eddie for Rashard Lewis?

I kinda feel sorry for Eddie because he has so much potential. I think he still could be something special, we've seen sparks of his talent during his rookie year. However, his sophmore year is actually worse than his rookie year.

Do I regret keeping Eddie? No...I think Rashard Lewis would be just as bad as Eddie playing under Mobley and Francis. If Eddie had someone like Payton or Barry to play with and some veteran taking care of him, I think Eddie would be an all star or near all star.

Initially when this trade was brought up I said stick with Eddie as a solid low post player with the "potential" skills he may have would be more valuable. But after viewing the peformances of Eddie and Rashard this season I am thinking perhaps it would have been better to have made that deal for Rashard which would have locked up our SF position and then look for a bruiser PF later on.

Rashard has really impressed me this year with his durability and play. He is taking on more responsibility and is responding. He has a nice offensive game and his defense is getting better and better. Plus he appears to be a good team guy never demanding shots and is willing to play within the confines of the offensive system.

Look at Rashard's numbers now...will Eddie ever produce those numbers? At least offensively...I really doubt it.

I was wrong, the deal should have been done.

It would have taken another player (for salary). Who was that supposed to have been?

We passed up on R. Lewis not once but twice, and we will pay for it throughout his long and productive career.

I would have done the deal...EG is an unknown...Rashard...well he is an 18-8 small forward who can shoot, pass, rebound, etc...etc....

Ugh....Thank god that Turcan and Drew combo is still paying dividends for us.

How long does it take for potential to wear off? I mean Elden Campbell had it for about 6 or 7 yrs and look at him. Derrick Coleman had HOF potential, but look at him. Larry Hughes and his 1 yr of college and 5 yrs in the nba, look at him. That potential word is thrown around alot, but what about production? When will we see some dividends? Griifin may turn out to be very good or he may turn out to be very avg. Looking at his footwork, we know he'll never be a good low post scorer and looking at his shot, we know he'll never be a great shooter.I'm to the point where if they can move him and some other players for a proven good player (SAR) then do it. I think the Bucks are still waiting on Tim Thomas to become a taller version of Scottie Pippen, yet he'sbeen in the league since 97 and hasn't doen it yet.

Not being able to dribble the ball would hinder anyone's game. Eddie is incapable of moving with the ball. Not "prefers not to", or "doesn't like to", but totally incapable. His best bet is to turn into a Dennis Rodman.

Well I do not have the power to trade players.

But the Rockets should be regretting not trading Eddie for anybody. They should regret even trading 3 draft picks for him.

Potential is a big load of horse crap. We screwed up with Eddie, plain and simple. He sucks and we should have gotten rid of him when we had the chance. I'm really, really hoping he gets traded this off season.

Cato was full of potential until this year. I guess 2 years from now Eddie will finally turn into a player.

The real question is, would you rather have Eddie and Posey, or Rashard and Kenny Thomas? Because if we had Rashard, we would not have traded KT.

eddie's got some game, but his development the last 2 years has been r****ded by Francis/Mobley. Trade the kid for his own sake.

Does anybody really believe that an ISO version of Richard Jefferson planted on the 3pt line would be prospering as he currently is in NJ?

I regret us not trading Ed for Diana Taurausi...whoops...that trade never came up. Although, I wonder how much better of a 3-pt shooter she is than Ed.

I definitely agree... Rashard is a solid, steady player who scores in the flow of the offense... a consistent 16-20 pt, 7 rebound, will knock down open jumpers guy.

With Yao operating in the low block we don't need 2 low post guys... it just clogs things up. In today's game you don't see 2 low post dominators on the same team like you would have in years past. The closest would be Duncan/Robinson, but Robinson has turned into a free throw line jump shooting role player.

Mo and Yao work alright together because Mo can shoot the 12-15 footer. Unless we got a versatile PF like a Dirk or KG, which probably won't happen, I think we're better off with a scoring SF and a hard working PF like PJ Brown or Kurt Thomas.

How about Shareef? The Hawks offered him for Eddie and some junk. We should have taken that before the trade deadline, we would be in the playoffs
