At work I get so bored or lazy that I sometimes check the BBS every 5-10 minutes. In the morning I do my "rounds" i.e. visit all the news sites and check/write emails but I find that this does not cover enough of my time. After a relatively quiet day on the two boards that I frequent I have decided I am waaaay too obsessed with the Clutch BBS. There were hardly any new posts - I didn't know what to do! Anyway I've decided that I'm going to try and cut down by thinking of a topic and learning about it while at work or while doing random surfing at home. Today I tried to further my PHP knowledge. Anyway, back to the point ... do any of you guys find yourselves in this situation?! I am waaaay too obsessed with this site!
Look at RM95, Behad, and other guys that have a 5 digit post count. Yes there are people obsessed with the site. Now donate since you're so obsessed.
Yes - I've checked this board about 10 times in the last hour and this is all I could find to write about. Ha Ha.
Obsession becomes a part of reality. Let us not take the BBS too literal, for it is after all only a place for us to gather and discuss Rockets basketball (I guess some of you do that). What we need to bear in mind is that this BBS exists only in a world where thoughts are made known and appearances can be deceiving, which for some of us is bordering on Nirvana.
I use to do the exact same thing when I didn't have too much work...Now, I don't have time, but make time...I've been only able to visit this site sparsley since Monday...
LMAO!!! Don't worry ACE I do the same thing, I pop in here every 30 minutes or so at work. (It'd probably be more often but there's a few more sites I check out daily.) Thirty minutes is plenty of time for some new topics in the hangout or another Ryan Bowen for Kevin Garnett trade propsal in the GARM.
When your wife catches you... once, twice, three times... not THAT thing... I mean doing the CF.net thing... and you say you won't do it "so much..." THAT's OBSESSED...
Yeah.. I do it too. Sometimes, when I see a new thread appear I go into it, and it has absolutely nothing that interests me.... yet I feel compelled to actually post something because.... well... just because. I usually don't post in those circumstances, but feel strongly compelled to. Methinks Behad, Codell, etc. don't resist the temptation. But I continue to watch the threads anxiously waiting for more BBQ information from Behad, heypartner, RocketMan Tex, or Pole. I'm a closet BBQ-jedi-wannabe and at nights I dream of owning a kick-ass smoker, spending all day watching football/basketball while the smell of meat wafts from my backyard, and a crowd of people gathers at my house envious of my BBQ cooking prowess and mastery. ... but then I wake up.... and surf the BBS some more. -- droxford
