Let's see, we have Luis Scola and Kevin Martin. Two players who flop trying to draw fouls routinely. Kyle Lowry also tends to exaggerate contact from time to time, even Shane has been shown to do the same sometimes. Do you consider these Rockets a flopping team? And if so, do you have a problem with it or do you figure whatever wins games is fine?
Scola, Battier and Jeffries are 3 of the best floppers in the game. I didn't really blame Vinny for getting tossed last night, it can be VERY fustrating as a fan so I can only imagine a coach going through it. Oh yea...yep they are.
It does bother me to some extent that we exaggerate contact more and more with this team, but we are still nowhere near the level of the Utah Jazz, Derek Fishers, and Anderson Varejos of the league. Scola is the most obvious, but you can't blame him since he is undersized and not as athletic as the bigger PF's. There is usually at least a questionable amount of contact by the guy with the ball when he goes down, and often enough contact to give Scola a disadvantage. I don't blame him for selling it a little. I don't have a problem with Martin drawing contact, but sometimes he tries way too hard. Like last night, when he nearly kicked Hinrich in the face on that charge. And Scola drawing the contact on what would have been an open jumper in the 4th last night was pretty bad, too.
I dont mind them taking charges, but I do have a problem when they undercut somebody (Lowry does this often) as they put the opposing player in a high risk situation. Also, on offense, I have no problem with them drawing contract and exaggerating a bit, but not when they just flop with no contact (Scola in 4th Q against Noah was very AK47ish). So yes, we most certainly are a flopping team, but while I dont have too much problem with it (I would like to see them not do it so damn much though), I can totally understand if fans from other teams hate us for it.
Yes. RA is a really good coach, but all of his teams tend to flop. Jordan Hill has the hair for it; but has not fed in yet. >
Unfortunately they are, but that helps them win for now. Hopefully when next season when they get better they minimize flops. What separates us from the Jazz is that they flop whether their team is good or bad.
Yep, we've become nearly the worst in the league about it. It's a step up from grabbing and playing dirty, but it's an unavoidable truth.
I like how when another team is flopping Bullard get's super PO'd and goes on a rant about it ruining the league. But when the Rockets do it, he calls it a great play. I guess that's him doing his job and being a Houston homer.
Even if we don't flop like AK or Sideshow Bob (creating a foul out of thin air) Jeffries, Martin, Lowry, and Scola are constantly trying to draw fouls on the offensive and defensive end of the floor.
Yes, and I hate it. Scola is the worst of them, and Lowry is not far behind. Battier and Hayes do it as well, but to a lesser extent.
Yes, they are. I don't like it. It's part of the game, and I respect it in small doses (Battier), but Lowry and Scola lately have just been ridiculous, and Martin is over the line too. I can't hate the Rockets for it, but I also don't want fans of every other team in the league to hate us.
Man how can you not say this is a flopping team. Landry + Scola+ Martin + Jeffries.. All we need is a flopping Center to round it out and we can be unstoppable.
