Almost everytime I visit CC.net, I try to click and surf to the ads Clutch has on the site. This 'does' bring in revenue for the site doesn't it?

I was wondering if anyone else did this?

Clutch, can you give us insight as to whether or not it does provide income for you? Cause if it does, I'm clicking as much as I can. You deserve it!

Well, I hate ads on web pages. Only rarely do I click on them. Their about as useless to me as TV ads which go in one eye and out the other. But, like you say, advertising is a source of income in some situations.

A prime example: The computer company Alienware has a deal where if you sign up with them and advertise their site on your site, they will compensate you if someone got to their site through your site and bought a computer.

I think that is a pretty cool idea myself.

I think it's great -- as long as they don't come up with their own pop-up window.

Internet advertising is going through a very strange period right now. To many extents pop-up advertising as a legitimate form of advertising (i.e.-not p*rn,etc) is a dying form. It will be interesting to see how ads and the internet continue to evolve though. Looking at that market there seems to be a window of opprotunity if someone has a good idea about how to advertise online. There is a HUGE market out there and a good idea can grow into millions if done correctly.
