Of course I do. I was just being sacrastic. I have just watched a match 10 minutes ago. It was so fake. The two wrestlers were just doing a routine which they have rehearsed before.
Actually, due to schedule constraints, etc., a lot of the time they don't have time to rehearse every match. The result is that many matches are ad-libbed. The end result is predetermined, but it's up to the wrestlers to do things on the fly, using crowd reaction & pacing to determine which moves to perform next. This is why if you look closely you'll see the wrestlers "calling" their next move to each other.
considering McMahon has announced it is staged, i find it hard to believe, perhaps his announcement is fake!!!
I was just pissed coz that match was so fake but the audience was cheering like crazy. I have known since I was six years old that pro wrestling is fake. I was being sarcastic coz I think they could have done it better. Gullible? Why? Do you have better things to do than picking on people on a bbs?
I was expecting some other funny comments about how fake the matches are. Just like the one posted by fadaway so everyone of us can laugh about it and have some fun. What's your problem with that?
I know wrestling is fake, or at least the outcome is. I agree that they could be ad-libbing because it seemed on Tough Enough that they were teaching them that. As for as the injuries are concerned, they are not fake. As far as I know, when someone goes through glass, they go through glass! If you watch some of those Fanactic series stuff, they talk about injuries received during a match. I know Mick Foley was one of these. He got tore up a LOT in matches.
Ya know, the criticism to wrestling has always been that it's fake, and the defenders say that of course wrestling should be fake 'cuz it's drama. I say the problem is not its fakeness but its suckiness as action dramas. First of all, dramas have to pretend that they are real. Which means there should be no dicussion of "action script" on stage, or the actors/actresses communicating with the audience. The pro-wrestling fail in these two aspects. I mean you won't give a damn if Juliet with a mustache kissing Romeo. Or suddenly Romeo shout to you as an audience "I'm a nice young lad and you'll see why I'm prince charming when I got Juliet." Or Juliet hinting Romeo "put your hand on my butt, this is what Shakespear would do if he's you." on the stage. The pro-wrestling is circus show, it's just some stuntmen doing their jobs that's it. I won't waste my time watching some big dudes bodyslaming each other in their underwear, while trying to portray themselves like heros. What pro-wrestling fails as a circus show is that, ironically, it tries to distinguish itself from being a circus show by dramatizing itself. Pro-wrestling is not either action drama or circus show but a weird Frankenstein in between. IT sucks as it has no genre so to speak, it tries to do too much or be something that it isn't, making it distasteful and meaningless. Just my two cents.
Wrestling is fake? No way, you have GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. It is fake? Next thing you want to do is tell me that Santa isn't real. He's real, isn't he? You damn right he is. He is real, Wrestling is real. Pam's breast are real too.
According to Vince McMahon in an interview by Bob Costas...he says he thinks that 2.5% of the audience thinks the action is real. RC is right. I have learned a lot about the industry over the last several years and when they go through glass...they GO THROUGH GLASS. They are trained to do so safely. The steel chairs happen to be real as well. In recent years the average wrestler has become less concerned about their bodies and more concerned about giving a great show.
Anybody see that WWF version of soccer airing on the spanish channel. Oh god. That is the stupidest thing I have ever seen. People running around in weird masks, midget goalies, and everybody tackling the midgets. I was laughing my ass off. The refs cheat too. Picking the ball up and running it over to the other team.
