Brooks is playing great off the bench at PG. He's making smart choices and shooting well. Also, while I know he's hurt, Francis is still rehabbing and trying to make it in to the rotation.

Why take a chance on a PG with character problems, and declining skill? The last roster spot needs to be saved for Mutumbo to come back for the playoffs stretch run...

...you wait until Brooks is playing out of his mind to suggest Marbury?

Marbury for cheap?? Are you kidding me...of course you will go for him. Understand that no matter what type of a player you are....when you come to a situation with more superstars...you're not going to be jacking up shots and taking a shots away from the other stars. For example, look at Artest...do you see him taking shots away from Yao and Tmac?? NO! Cuz he understand what situation he's in. So if we ever sign Marbury, i expect him to defer the same. I don't see a problem. People always point out the cancer like oohh he's going to be such a cancer in the locker room and he's going to demand the ball...i heard that same stuffs before Artest is even signed. Fans were like ohhh we don't want Artest cuz he's a cancer and create chemistry problem for the team. Look at him now??? Do you still want Artest?? Yea that's what i am talking about...

2 more reasons to sign him are:

    1. Shoot better than Rafer from downtown.
    2. Can attack and penetrate at will which is something Rafer hardly attempt to do.

    cosign.

Marbury is on the way out. I'm confident AB can be a solid starting point guard. No disrespect to Starbury, he's definitely a borderline Hall of Famer (statistically wise), but we already have the right pieces....we just need a few more weeks to gel.

I agree with DD unless you really believe Rafer can bring us a ring. Aaron will replace Rafer in some days but who knows when?

    -----------------------------------------------------------
If we can sign him for the vet minimum, then I would do it, and if he is a cancer you cut him.

The guy is still better than any PG we have on our roster.....and I believe that if he were on a team with established leaders that was WINNING he might fall in line.

    If not......you jettison him.....pronto....

But, I am always up for taking a free look at potential assets...and hey...you JVG supporters should know that JVG thinks he can still play at a high level.

    I agree with him.

I think we should take a chance on him. We need all the help we can get a PG. It would be a no risk high potential reward option to sign him. Plus, if he acts up, we can just release him.

He's been a pretty good PG throughout the years. He's had a pretty good AST/TO ratio.

    Can't let Jshabang down.

    :D

Hey, I don't even have to post in the thread anymore....thanks.

And, I still believe this way....a free look is a free look and he CAN'T be worse than Rafer...

And playing on a team with established leaders and an awesome work ethic, could only help.

Winning cures a lot of ills.

For the vet min - NO QUESTION. He gets pinned as a cancer but as of late I've seen nothing but exemplary behavior on his part. He walked into training camp in excellent shape, worked hard during the offseason, and looked excellent in the preseason.

Hell, he didn't make a scene out of being benched for a scrub by a new coach. He's definitely not the headcase he used to be. We gave Artest a chance - why not give Marbury the same opportunity. If it pans out Morey will look like a genius and the Rockets will be even more dangerous - if it doesn't we lose practically nothing.
