C no PF no SF shouldn't be with Tmac SG shouldn't be with Artest PG YES bench NO Honestly we have a good team and the only real place we can upgrade is point. The problem is good points are valuable. What can me do to upgrade?
T-Mac - Brain transplant. Scola - Teach him how to play defense. Rafer - Out of body experience. Yao/Artest - Take one of Artest's balls and give them to Yao.
I believe our chemistry will come together by the end of the season and that we can compete with any team. I worry about who is going to take over in the final minutes of the 4th quarter. That is definitely a weakness.
C- Yao - Non Athletic, Can't jump BC Deke- Old, little offense PF - Scola - to short, no shot blocking ability and can't rebound as well because of height. BPF - Landry - still raw, short, not crafty enough with his offensive moves. SG - T-mac - His ability to drive to the basket sucks, Horrible 3pt % shooter, Also sub par FG % shooter, Volume shooter, needs ball to be in hands to be effective. Poor leadership skills, doesn't show determination or will in a game. I could go on and on but that stuff has been said a zillion times allready. SG- we have weakness here too just won't go in to detail,. PG- Alston - Streaky shooter , AB - SHORT and will games where he is just missing. Coach - To relaxed and can't pump any adrenaline to our team with his demeanor and unable to teach any defensive schemes.
Yes. Need to be healthy. Need to play as a team. Need to find a 6-11 backup C to take Head's roster spot.
Team and coaches need to go back and watch tape of the 22-win streak and see what was going on that made the Rockets invincable. There's probably a formula in there somewhere.
Short??? what would you write for AI, too short, too skinny, too many tattoos, don't like his wife...c'mon now, it's one thing to have a real glaring weakness and other to be picky. I hope you realize scola gets like 8 boards a game, not bad for someone who can't "rebound as well". You can't expect to have a high volume rebounder next to Yao.
If T-Mac regains his form from last years playoffs ATLEAST, we should be able to get past the first round this YEAR without any injuries to our star players. But the question is WILL he? He seems like he has been improving his last 2 games but thats what I think.
A consistently good shooting PG and size up front are missing. I think at least one (PG please) needs to be solved if this team plans on seeing the WCF.
When you're 7'6 you don't really need to jump, as for Scola, the dude has been a beast on the boards recently and Landry is as efficient as any player on our roster in terms of shooting percentage, heck, he even makes perimeter shots. I'll give you the other points however..., carry on.
Where do you want to start: -Our Pg's are erratic and inexperienced. Rafer Alston currently holds the worst shooting % of any starting player in the league. He will never be a reliable shooter. It's too much to ask for an elite level pg or a guy like Andre Miller, but championship teams need good shooting pg's, ala Derick Fisher or even a guy like Steve Blake. AB is not a true pg and struggles to run an offense. -Tmac is having the worst yr of his career aside from his 2 first seasons. He isn't running, moving , cutting, playing defense, or driving. He is content as a jumpshooter but more than ever even if he wants to drive, he's not able to blow by his man anymore. He's just plain slow and old right now. -Ron has been very disappointing, gambling alot on defense. Taking worse shots than Tracy, being a true ball stopper. His defense has been erratic too relying too much on steals. His bad ankle might have alot to do with it -Luis and Carl have been fine offensively , but both can flat out be liabilities on defense. We are really undersized at this position. -Yao seems to have lost a step as far as blocking shots and rebounding -Chuck Hayes has gotten chunky, not D;ing up as much. -Overall we like team speed and athleticism. We are still a big time jumpshooting team and are a far ways from challenging the Lake show
Same here. The more I think about it the more I think this team has to have a PG who can score and distribute. Having a quality scorer at PF would shots and touches from Yao and having a scorer at SF/SG takes away McGrady's touches (as we have learned). Unfortunately, Yao and McGrady need their touches/shots to get into rhythm. Acquiring a PG who can get and make his own shot as well as set up others is the only way this team will go to the next level. The Rockets need a guy who can get buckets but also make the game easier for Yao and Tmac because neither guy seems capable of making the game easier on themselves. Yao is always a step slow and McGrady becomes invisible if the offense doesn't run through him.
That is my point we have a good team, but we still aren't that good. When Artest comes in all he does is jack up 3's and well Tmac I won't even say anything about him. 1-10 we might be the most talented team in the league, but its so hard to watch us lose the knicks, pacers, 76ers, grizzlies, etc.
Team personality: the softness which is worse than any weakness. you can overcome the weakness but the softness.
