One of the more interesting, and crucial, decisions the Rox have to make this offseason is whether or not to keep the 15th pick, or pass it on to the Griz to fulfill our trade obligations... To sumarize... With the latest addition of Dunleavy to the draft, this is becoming a very deep draft, with the possibility of guys like Stoudamire being there at 15. Couple that with the very real possibility that some teams at the top might be looking for a package of lower picks to move down, and the value of that 15th pick is becoming very interesting... On the other hand, it's obviously a big risk to keep the pcik...We COULD end up having to give up the no. 1 overall pick next year ( James?) if we don't get rid of this debt now...The 15th is, I believe, about the lowest pick we can reasonably expect to part with to close out the Francis deal. So, as I say, it's a tough call....But we all want to be GM's, and GM's make the tough calls...What would you do? "Maybe, maybe not" NOT being an option....And this is all predicated on us ending up with the 5th, or thereabouts, with our high 1st...
All you have to do is go to nbadraft.net and look at the 2003 mock draft and you will see that Lebron James is it, and I hope we aren't at number 1. Keep the pick. I think we could trade the 5 for the Clippers 2 first round picks and maybe trade the 2nd Clips. pick and our 15 to move up and maybe pick 8 and 9. There will be quality at 8 and 9 that we can afford. Or we could trade the picks and get some loser (Odom) or some other teams castoff free-agent that we can't afford.
