Do we have the MLE to offer it to Ilgauskas if there is a buyout?

    I was thinking, Do we have the MLE to offer it to Ilgauskas if there is a buyout?
    If we have it, would Morey consider giving the guy a big offer? He is really appreciated in Cleveland by the fans but will lose playing time so that Shaq doesn't complain. Would be a perfect fit on our system.

    Oh, because our frontline is a powerhouse? And Yao is so reliable that it would not be good to have a decent backup in case he goes down again or forever?

    no we gave the medical exception we received from Yao's injury to ariza


    we used the MLE to sign Chase, JT and Andersen to longer than usual 2nd round pick contracts

    If Yao goes down forever we need more than Ilgauskas.

    We would just draft a big man. We are drafting one this summer anyways.

    Actually, we would have a better chance to land LeBron, if we have Ilgauskas. For 2 reasons.
    1st Cleveland will be weaker.
    2nd He knows he plays better with BigZ than with Shaq. Jamison is yet to be tested.
    3rd The player has to agree to the SnT as well as the team.

    Are you kidding? To be his age, he is still a very effective big. Should be starting over Shaq. Adding an effective big now would put us at contender status. NOW, not next year. IMO
