Do we have a legit pick n roll team?

Time and time again I see the Rockets running a ton of high picks. But are we really better off without the high pick n roll?

Scola really isn't a pick n roll player when having to drive left. He thrives in the pick n pop situations tho, but even with Brooks on the court and teams neglecting to go over the top of the screen, are we better off without our main theme being a pick n roll team?

Seems like every time we try to establish any type of pick n roll the other teams go on a big run. Then our offense just stalls and we are lost.

With the current roster, and with Yao not being the same player he once was, is it time to move on from this strategy until we get a legit starter that thrives in the pick n roll?

We run an equal opportunity offense for most of the game. Then the 4th quarter comes and defenses tighten, so it's much harder for us to get open looks.

the pick and roll should be every team's bread and butter, but we don't have the personnel to run it. Brooks and Lowry who are both good PG's don't have the instincts for it. Ishmael is our best pick and roll PG but he can't shoot the jumper.

If we had one, we wouldn't be losing close games or look lost on the offensive end.

Scola is a good pick and roll big. We do not have a good pick and roll point guard however.

Look who is closing out the games.

In order for it to work you have to honor the dribblers ability to hit the jump shot.

    And, uh...well......

DD we had the same issues in our 42-40 season..............

We simple do not have the people who can run an effective Pick and Roll when Tmac left.

AB can shoot but his decision making needs to improve.

He ran it a lot with Scola last year, and he was running it early with Scola and Yao....

He is certainly not GREAT at it, but he is pretty good and the only one that defenses have to honor at it.

Ish runs the pick and pop really well, until defenses start leaving him alone like they do with Kyle.

Would have been nice if he was guarding him on that last play...hehe...

Isn't it funny how we were 0-5 with AB but close to a lot of elite teams, and once he goes out, we are losing by double digits to crap teams.

    Well not funny, sad really.

Why not try a two-man game between KMart and Scola? We have to try something different.

Kmart can not dribble effectively enough to run it.

To stop KMart you put an athletic wing that sticks to him, he has trouble with those guys without multiple picks set to free him up.

He was doing the 2 man game along Miller. KM and Miller ran some effective Pick & Roll well more like pick and Pop. But Aaron is the best we have to bad he is now on the sideline.
