You guys could blame whomever you want and use the T-mac excuse (oh we lost by 40points last time T-mac played the Mavs in the playoffs)

it's still the same freaking problem. it's been the same freaking problem since Steve Francis was here.

    Look:

We have nobody to guard the quicker guards of the other team.

...Which is why Chris Paul pulled an egg last game?

We don't need a Jason Terry stopper. Although if someone jacked his headband and burned it, I think we would all die happy men.

It's not that we can't guard Jason Terry. It's that we couldn't guard the pick and roll.

Terry was being smart today. When he lost Brooks/Lowry, he always ran laterally at Yao. Yao had no choice but to stand ground, and not nip outside to guard Terry, fearing a blow-by. Terry always made his shots because they were always WIDE open.

Oh yes we do need a Jason Terry stopper.

You don't think in a 7 game series vs the Rockets, Chris Paul wouldn't go off?

I would put Artest on him, should work, but not when he's on fire like tonight in the 4Q

adelman should have mixed things up putting both artest or battier....lowry kept getting torched.

no double teams on dirk or putting hayes on dirk more was killing the rox too.

Actually, that should be a decent matchup for Aaron Brooks. He has the quickness to stay on Terry, and Terry is not a physical, post up player.

Terry has given us problems, historically, not just because he beats his man one on one. Its because the Mavs have been good at exploiting matchups elsewhere (usually with Dirk, but sometimes with Howard) and that gives Terry openings to kills us when we have to help. When we do a poor job securing the defensive rebound, that also puts out of position defensively and he's hurt us on second chance points as well. Another way he's hurt us is in early offense, created usually by poor offensive possessions on our part (either turnovers, or just plain terrible shots ... *cough* ... Artest).

We just need to be more solid overall, and there can't be confusion on defensive responsibilities. Wafer and Landry were slow to rotate on some possessions in the 4th quarter, and our bigs didn't secure some critical defensive rebounds, and it cost us.

Terry is such a disgusting player and person, if I were in a room with him I would give him paper cuts until he died.
