After hearing from JVG, cat will definitely not be moved. I'm curious on what he will do our roster.I'm sure Posey will b resigned. I'm looking for us to get an efficient backup 2 combo guard. Rice will be 50-50. Do you think Mo or Norris will be shipped out?

If Eddie's defense doesn't shape up, he'll be the first gone.

No doubt defense weaknesses are the first thing JVG will sniff out, and he has little tolerance for a slacker.

No decission has yet been made on Roster considerations, JVG received the tapes to day and will review our Team . One hopes that all our weakness will be exposed and he will eventually make the correct personel and coaching decissions. Please dont be lulled into anything by JVGs first impressions as he will surprise us all !

    He will review tapes.

I think he will trade Cato,Taylor,Norris......

For a good deal for a PF(Rockets weakness), and shop around for a PG, who is defensive minded and can shoot out APG. Who's out there thou.

So think PF-PG. This offseason. JVG will very soon....

the decision is not JVG's to make on roster moves. sure he can some say, but he can't just come in and clean house. I highly doubt that that's the way it's gonna work, plus he has to see what kind of team he has before suggesting to CD & Les on roster changes.

    in an ideal situation:
    EG develops an inside presence.
    Yao develops an mean streak.
    Cat becomes 6th man.
.... and maybe work out a trade for a big combo guard to slide Francis over to the 2 spot

well those, as well as others. can't wait for summer leagues to get here.

I thought he picked Houston because he LIKED the roster. I say let's see what he can do with this roster AS IS before we start the trade talks.

    Except Moochie... :D

I don't think he'll trade him either. Cato's become a great backup up for and compliment to Yao.

VG is not going to come out the first day and say that he is going to start trading players. One thing that should be learned from this whole coaching circus is that what is said in public could be the direct opposite of what is being discussed behind closed doors.

The only players that are tradeable are Cat and Eddie. If Cuttino is going nowhere . I see no changes

What about Glen Rice, Kelvin Cato, Steve Francis, James Posey, and Bostjan Nachbar? They all seem like tradeable assets.

i dont expect any moves this season.. maybe in the middle of the season or when things really have gone terribly wrong. i think JVG will stick to the current squad and the only moves will be release maddox and collier. i think JVG might also consider some moves in the guard position. like get a good pg and switch to steve at sg and move cat to a 6th man or stick with steve and cat in the backcourt and get a good pg to rotate with steve.

Steve Francis is entirely NOT tradeable. Not just because it'll never be an issue, but because it's actually not possible since he's going into the first year of his contract... I think. Hasn't this been discussed here before?

Either way, Stevie ain't goin nowhere.

I really don't think any of our players are on the block.

I think there's a 95% chance we'll make a deal at the deadline. One of those trades, where you're playing decent basketball, then that t-die-for trade presents itself, and you unload some young talent to get a play who will launch you into contender status.

I think JVG will take till midseason to truly evaluate, and will THEN make a trade. I'm sure we'll deal with the PF position, and will definitely improve our backup situation at the 1 and 2.

Steve won't go anywhere. We're going into a new arena. New coach. We have two All-Star starters. We need to put butts in the seats at the new arena and trading away the team's franchise player is no sign of stability...

...unless you get Garnett in return. Which ain't gonna happen, because I believe the Wolves will trade Brandon's expiring salary for Eddie Jones.

I guess that thread on the first page talking about JVG's mention of Francis, Cuttino and Yao being the main guys wasn't sufficient.

That's why you get a power forward who can play both power forward and center position like Antonio Davis!

Eddie can backup Yao as well!

Look on the bright side: you and the rest of the posse can now be "coachhata's" too.

....Oh wait.....most of you already were.

The only new piece of management is the coaching staff. We still have CD and even Rudy T in the organization. I'm sure they have some ideas of things they'll want to do. Obviously, they're going to want to hash it out with VG to get the players he needs. But, if they identified a need this last season, I doubt they'll wait till the trade deadline to address it.
